I'm thoroughly disappoint with our first (and last) Black president.

Barack Obama has proved to be just like all the Democrats who have reached national prominence since the Fall of Richard Nixon... proved to be a bitch on his knees and his mouth wide open to accepts a pulsating penis for the GOP members of Congress.

Sure, I'm a liberal, in fact, some would accuse me of being socialist, but regardless of the monikers that you might hang on me, Barack Obama has shown that he doesn't have a set of steel balls to beat down the Republican/Confederates who are STILL controlling things in the National Legislature, even though the Democrats have a so-called majority in both houses of Congress!!!

Bill Maher used to ragged on Barack Obama all summer as the health care debate started heating up, because Obama pulled the Single-Payer System off the table from jump. I don't know about you, but that's piss-poor negotiating... particularly with those cretinous GOP bastards. To not ask for the moon and the stars -- and announce it to the American people -- was just criminally ignorant, and demonstrates no spine or no willingness to really hand it to the RNC and the nobs that serve in it and under it. If the Single-Payer Plan was what Obama initially launched, then the water-down by lobbyists and special interest bill that would now becoming out of the House and the Senate would be much more robust than the laughable excuse that Nancy Pelosi announced yesterday.

Have you heard about the details for this bill? It has no teeth in negotiating with hospitals and doctors for optimal payments for services. And states can opt out of the so-called Public Option that's been offered up? Not to mention that you can't get on the Public Option unless you are completely unable to get insured through your employer. And I don't know what the House Bill says about Pre-existing conditions, but I'm sure it's some Sad Sister attempt to make good on something that is handled criminally currently.

Barack Obama has been pussyfooted on health care, the wars in the infernal Middle East and he's thrown the Gays under the bus... I'm not sure where and when he's going to come through on any of the campaign shit that he promised. But you know his biggest campaign corporate donor was Goldman Sachs, so I don't any kind of real economic reform of the Middle Class can ever occur. Notice how I didn't mention anything about the Economy as something that we must hold Obama's feet to the fire about, because no President and help The Economy -- they can FUCK IT in the ass with no vaseline the way Bill Clinton did by repealing the Glass Steagall Act and enacting the 1996 Telecommunicatons Act, and championing then signing into law NAFTA. Thanks, Bill, thanks a lot!

Obama, like some many other Democrats, are looking to forge laws through bi-partisanship.... why the fuck is that part of the agenda? The GOP never attempt for bi-partisanship, the GOP encourage divisive rhetoric and behavior, the GOP ram it down your throat if you mess with them... and they're unapologetic about it. Also, if there was a need for bi-partisanship legislation, why is the need for a majority important? Why are parties important? Those divisions exist, because Right Wing Factions are all about swindling people under the prostituted rubric of "capitalism and the American Way." Is the American Way about stripping people of their money, making them slaves to debt holders and banks, refusing the general citizens affordable health care and empowering the Corporations so they have more power and RIGHTS (yes, Constitutionally protected RIGHTS) than human beings!

Maybe the only thing Obama hasn't shown his ass on is nominating Sotomayor to the Supreme Court... but he still hasn't figured out how to checkmate that Uncle Tom Clarence Thomas...

Today, after being told that my unemployment checks -- due to disqualification -- won't kick in until Thanksgiving Week (applied on August 14th), I went down to the Welfare Office (aka Department of Public Social Services) to apply for Food Stamps. Yeah, it's gotten that bad for me. I'd been looking for a job since August 2008, when I was tired of being the "bitch" ay my job (me! of all people). And after a year of looking, I got nowhere -- and then I was laid the fuck off by this shit ass insurance company (Houston Casualty Company, like they don't have surplus money).

The thing about going to the various public/governmental services offices (and I've been to a few recently: court house for moving violations, court house to file suit against two different landlords, housing department to track down my shady as fuck landlord Steven "Magic Steve" Ringel, etc.) is that you get to see firsthand people who have slipped through the cracks... of the employment cycle, that is. The people look worn down, beat, malnourished (like myself at this point), of a questionable sartorial aesthetic, sometimes saddle with children (who are fucking up their lives, and whose lives they're fucking up -- as poverty has grip that's harder and harder to break these days), and a healthy amount of people of color -- I would say minorities, but in this environment, whites are the minorities (even the workers ain't white). However, the white people ARE down here are the downtrodden dregs; what Nelly Fuller would have called White Sacrifices (further discussion in another post probably, check back in a couple of days). They look like bath water is their mortal enemy, and their dental work is shabby (which reminds me, I'm applying for Medi-Cal, so I can get some much needed dental work done).

There worst thing about waiting for my name to be called is the decor and the lighting. The ugly as fuck white and the ghastly yellow-green that comes from the old and semi-flickering florescent bulbs.

The white woman nagging the black man next to me about how to fill out the form is really annoying. Why can't she just shut her mouth and recognize that she made a bad choice, cut her losses and then keep stepping?

When my number is finally called, I go into the Interview section of the DPSS and meet with a Chinese woman who has pretty thick accent... I have to keep yelling at her through the 2-inch glass to repeat herself.

She wants to know if I live alone, and I have to lie about that one (but it's basically true) and then I have to tell her about why I'm not getting Unemployment--I took money from the state of California in the fall of 2007 because I needed more money to survive, even though working at that shit-ass insurance company--so I'm not getting those subsistence-only checks. The state sent me a bill for the money I took while working, and then claimed that I'd be disqualified for 11 weeks (then it became 15 weeks) if I applied for Unemployment Insurance within 3 years (it would be three years in January, fuckers).

I have to provide my bank statements, which have negative balances, and proof that my rent is super-high and unpaid for this month (and it will be unpaid next month, too). What I don't have is my car registration and the statement from the EDD stating that I'm on disqualification status until Thanksgiving (I'm calling those fuckers tomorrow and asking for an appeal on that 15-week period).

I can't shit-talk my landlord, he did drop my rent by $100, but he's not going to be happy with me. This is one of those reasons why I wish I was paying a mortgage, because I could string the bank a long a little longer than a landlord.

The thing is I haven't eaten in two and a half days, and I need this Chinese bitch to approve my Food Stamp allowance ASAP. But she won't, because she needs these other documents, which I can't fax to her today. I need to come back in on Tuesday -- that means all weekend without eating -- because she's not in the office on Monday (what the fuck is she doing taking a vacation? As a California state employ they're forced to take every other Friday off, because the state can't figure out how to collect enough revenue to deal with all the social services its supposed to provide (in Los Angeles they're cutting back on the police force! yeah, LAPD is getting paired down, ain't that a bitch!!?!).

I try to see if I can come back in an hour with the documents that she needs, but she says she's going on lunch and then she'll have other clients to see. I'm saying to myself, "bitch, you can eat you, but know that I'm not going to be able to eat until you get me my Food Stamps! (and then I still need gas money to get to the grocery store!).

My case worker just isn't budgeting, keeps going back to her default reply, "come in on Tuesday with necessary documents and hopefully I can approve your Food Stamps."

See the tough part is providing her my car registration (something else she wants to see), because while I have paid it, I still have some unpaid tickets that I'm arguing against so I don't have my new yellow 2010 tag for my car.. which is sitting in my parking space for the past month, 'cause I ain't driving it on the streets of LA with 7 month old tags (I don't even know when I can get the $414 to pay those tickets off either... they're from last year, when I struggling financially).

The one saving grace that I have is, I'm suing my previous landlord for keeping my security deposit from back in October of 2008. I taking Steve Ringel to small claims for $6900 (I had medical bills that were the result of staying in his building that was infested with mold, which I'm highly allergic to, so I'm asking for that, plus I had to borrow money via payday loans to pay for the security deposit of my current place, which I could have easily paid back, if this little shit Steve Ringel didn't decide to keep my security deposit.

Anyway, I tried to serve Steve Ringel papers but he provided the city with false place of residence and hasn't paid the Housing Department the yearly fee for being able to rent out his property.

I hunted down Ringel's potentially real address, and expect to have the LA Sheriff's serve him this week, as the tentative court date is November 16, 2009. If court goes well, I can look to pocket $6900 in a few short weeks. I'm going to file all the necessary paperwork to get access Ringel's bank account and other assets to make him pay me.

So this entry is called "Choices" and as you can see I've made some bad choices over the last couple of years and they're really biting me in the ass right now.

The biggest one was taking a job as the office bitch at that insurance company. I mean I was ready and actively looking to get a new gig for over year, before they finally handed me my walking papers.

The thing that has kept me afloat in Los Angeles for more than half of this decade of making less than $25k/year is the honed financial mind that I have, but the shrewd manipulators who ass-raped the economic system made it so my choices were magnified when the bad juju came back at me. The thing is with just a couple of breaks the other way, I'd be sitting pretty right now. The stock picks that I wanted to put money behind during the height of last years turmoil would have more than doubled since I made my imaginative choice. Would that had the money to place those bets, I could borrow against those securities now and stretch out my living situation. However, I'm prevented from making that choice, because of other questionable choices that I made in the last 5 years.

See 5 years ago, I was looking to join the Foreign Service, and was getting ready to do so when I got my first writing gig in Hollywood. And they kept me here in Los Angeles, but I shouldn't have stopped pursuing the Foreign Service goal. Hollywood is really a anti-nigger machine bastion, because it spews out the images that keep black people down more than anything else. And they don't hire or buy Intellectual Property from black nearly enough, even when it could be superior.

But I had a huge amount of hubris, which prevented me from changing careers and/or excelling in my chosen career (it's rare that somebody wants to hire a really smart nigger or even help them out). So the choice to stay in Hollywood and get typecast as the "urban comedy" writer -- Hollywood exec code for "nigger comedies with limited budget and limited upside potential that we'll only make one or two of a year.

Anyway, where ever you are in life, it's because of the choices that you made. And you can only blame or credit yourself for the good or bad places that you've been at, are at now or will be at.

Radio - The Mouthpiece of the Foot On Your Neck

New York City was, is and always will be the Mecca of Hip-hop, and its radio stations desire to hold the much-sought after title of "The Arbiter of Pop Urban Black Culture for the Youth" -- that's a mouthful, but a better euphemism might the station that "keeps it the realist." As if that's something with any true weight in the context of the world.

But anyway, New York's Hot 97(WQHT-FM) has been the epicenter of controversy, as rappers are using the radio as their soapbox to take a piss on rival rappers. For instance (from 3/14/05 NYTimes):

Late last week the rapper Jadakiss had a personal message for his rival 50 Cent: "You should just sell clothes and sneakers cause out of your whole camp your flow's the weakest." He chose not to relay the message by fax or two-way pager, nor did he pick up the phone. Instead, Jadakiss turned to an outlet that has become an increasingly popular avenue for communication and conflict within the world of hip-hop: the radio station Hot 97.

Releasing "diss records" has been a mainstay in hip-hop, an extension of the problematic extreme Alpha Male syndrome that corrupts the way Black men conduct themselves in the ghettos and is spilling over to the suburbs.

Now Jadakiss could not have chosen a bigger megaphone. Hot 97, which is owned by the Indianapolis-based Emmis Communications Corporation, is the No. 2 station among listeners in New York City and has been No. 1 in the city's 18-34 demographic for nearly a decade. It earns an estimated $40 million annually in revenue, putting it in the top five of Emmis's 25 radio stations. That's a HEFTY as fuck sum, lets you what kind of real $$$$ hip-hop and its exploitation of nigga culture generates THAT THE ARTISTS SEE VERY LITTEL OF. But in recent months Hot 97 has been buried in bad publicity. Critics contend that Hot 97 has tilted from credible arbiter of rap trends to ratings-hungry promoter of violence and racism. This had to happen, because invariably the commercial exploitation of Blacks is going to invite charges of racism, racist behavior from Blacks and whites and some down-right fuckshit, aka "it's a black thang... you wouldn't undastand!"

If not marred by enough senseless and pointless violence, ...two weeks ago, gunfire erupted in front of Hot 97's Greenwich Village offices, shortly after 50 Cent announced on the air that he was booting his protégé, the Game, from his G-Unit clique. The incident, coincidentally, occurred on the first day of the rapper Lil' Kim's perjury trial, stemming from her account of a 2001 shoot-out in front of Hot 97. All of this follows the monthlong battering Hot 97 has endured for airing a song mocking victims of the tsunami tragedy. Did this, I wonder, make national news? It just shows the callousness that young Black people exude -- a callousness that is justified, because young Blacks are systematically just as disenfranchised as the tsunami victims... yet their plight ain't called a tradegy; it's called niggas being lazy... by those who keep a foot on the Black man's neck.

The effect has pointed up, at the very least, how commerce on the cutting edge of hip-hop culture can go awry. I just said it earlier, but if you thnk about it any kind of commercial exploitation of Black culture goes awry, because whites are stripmining and niggas are trippin' from their lack of even the basic knowledge of the tenants of U.S. capitalism. And the recent events may impose another real-world price on the station: the landlord of the building that houses Hot 97 has threatened to oust the station, citing a track record of shootings, fights and "severe verbal abuse of security and building management personnel."

Emmis executives say they are simply trying to maintain their balance.

"We don't want to do anything that provokes or encourages or escalates any kind of violent behavior between camps," said Rick Cummings, president of Emmis's radio division. "By the same token, I can't have the radio station being viewed as a sellout or less than genuine by the younger part of the audience."This, and this alone can go A LONG way in explaining the blighted existence of the American Negro, why he is still a slave, a hustler who's overhead is in EXACT accordance to what his hustle brings in, an ignorant free man who seeks the stabilty of working a wage-slave position and smoking up a good deal of his or her earnings to combat the effects of being in constanct survival mode. The stakes are high. While considered a kingpin of rap radio, the station is facing increased competition from upstart Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM), which is owned by the radio giant Clear Channel Communications. Though Hot 97 still has a comfortable lead over Power 105 in the 18-34 demographic - the "money demographic," according to radio analysts - Power 105, for the first time since its inception two years ago, managed to beat Hot 97 in overall ratings. Management may also be worried, industry observers say, because Star and Buc Wild, once wildly popular (and controversial) morning show D.J.'s at Hot 97, are now perched at Power 105.1.

Meanwhile, local activists are calling for an overhaul of the station. Rosa Clemente, a leading organizer of an anti-Hot 97 rally held earlier this month, accused the station of promoting music filled with misogynistic and violent content. "They call themselves the place where hip-hop lives," she said, "but hip-hop does not live there. A culture of greed and disrespect lives at Hot 97." The Rev. Al Sharpton and several state and local lawmakers recently asked Federal Communications Commission to turn its attention to the station. And along with every other major radio broadcaster in the area, Emmis has received a subpoena from Eliot Spitzer, New York's attorney general, for information on its promotional practices.

"We have run into a string of rotten luck here," Mr. Cummings said in an interview, "but if you look at us over the last 17 years, I think the record is pretty stellar."

But Hot 97 is not the only Emmis station that has landed in hot water. Only last summer, Emmis agreed to pay $300,000 to resolve complaints of indecency against a Chicago D.J. In settling the charges with a F.C.C. increasingly intolerant of indecency on the airwaves in the wake of last year's Super Bowl halftime show, Emmis committed itself to a plan to prevent future violations. (Emmis also owns 16 television stations and Los Angeles magazine and Texas Monthly.)

Predatory Banks Exposed as Part of Anti-Nigger Machine!

I was listening to the Public Radio International show TO THE POINT yesterday and the main story was about how Blacks an Latinos have a disproportionately high level of home foreclosures... the reason behind this? A resurfacing and repackaging of an old technique that white people used to fuck with people of color, this time it's called REVERSE REDLINING!!! This is where the insidious bankers/mortgage brokers specifically target Black and Latino homeowners and sucker them in to taking out subprime loans on their homes. Not because these people have bad credit ratings, far from it! Their only crime could have just been being financial ignorant (truth be told, many of those exotic subprime loans are DESIGNED to confuse the borrower) and that banks, all the major banks, have systematically pulled out of servicing the so-called Ghetto.

Criminally evil bank Wells Fargo was particular malignant and malicious in its predatory activity. They're being sued by the City of Baltimore for their wide-spread practice of reverse redlining. Employees have stated under oath that they called Blacks and Hispanics, "Mud People" and were going to saddle "these idiots with ghetto loans." I'm surprised there hasn't been any emails released outlining this Anti-Nigger Machine Practice.

We can once again place the blame of this fucking with Blacks at the feet of the Dubya Bush Administration's policies. Dubya was all about having as many people as possible own homes -- irrespective of their qualifications for that or if it was economically feasible to have some much home ownership... because we saw how this drive for everyone to have their house with the picket fence artificially inflated home prices across the board.

We can also blame Dubya Bush for the outrageous level of consumer spending that went on in the wake of 9/11. Remember when that Texas fuckwad got up on the mic and damn near begged Americans to going to buy, buy, buy to spur the economy!

The problem with banks like Wells Fargo and Washington Mutual (uh... Chase now) is that they pushed and pushed and pushed these loans on unsuspecting Black people. In the TO THE POINT story, one of the guests recounts that in Atlanta there were task forces, TASK FORCES!!! that were set up to prevent these ANM vultures from co-opting Black Home Owners with "equity in your house that you're wasting" at Church! At Church!

What the Fuck Is Wrong With These People?!!?! This week the Obama Administration has enacted edicts to cap executive pay for financial companies and the big banks. Bravo, bravo, bravo.

Now many critics are clamoring that this is socialist, that this yanks the core out of capitalism (being paid a heinously high wage for your skill set), and that it'll stifle competition or cause a "brain drain" at this top

The so-called skill that these top financial wizards really have is the moxy to bet large and bet large often where the odds of success are rigged to work out, but in the extreme happenings that the bets don't pay off, Satan comes calling to the American Taxpayer.

The upper level managers at the big banks WILL NOT be hurting by having actually salary caps, because they're getting unlimited compensation in stock options... which means that the quest to drive up the stock prices (short term gain over long term growth once again) will continue to put at risk everyone else's wealth. Not to mention that these people will be able to borrow against the future worth of the stock options (that will no doubt be worth a lot, because these oligarchs WILL ensure that the stock price continues to rise -- at the expense of what else? who knows, but surely it's at the expense of the lower classes' pensions and future well-being.

My bunghole hurts just thinking about how big of dildo Wall Street is going to shove up it -- with no vaseline -- next time.

I heard something today, which has to be bullshit, but probably not and I'll have to do some research to find out. In any event, the tidbit of news was that Bank of America will be charging its credit card customers a few who PAY OFF THEIR ENTIRE BALANCE EACH MONTH! Yeah, seriously you must pay Bank of America interest fees if you carry a balance or pay a fee just to keep the card if you carry no balance (and they have the nerve to maintain the name "bank of america", should be the "bank of the soviet republic").

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's too close to what a bullshit credit card company like First Premier does (you have to pay $6/month "service" fee... regardless if you have a balance or not just to keep your account open... on top of the annual fee and any interest charges you get for whatever balance you have).

It would seem that American Express isn't such a bad option with their $55 annual fee... at least if you're the type of person who doesn't want to carry a credit card balance and uses the credit card as a cash substitute, not a loan. Getting a loan these days is just a pernicious hassle if banks like BofA and Wells Fargo are going to spread your buttchecks and expand your sphincter with a baseball bat.

The Oligarchical power that the Wall Street Banks exhibit, subtly, is really a direct result of Ronald Reagan's presidency. Remember President Eisenhower's Farewell Speech, in which he warned about the heinous and pernicious power grab that the Military Industrial Complex was working? Well, during Reagan's administration, he fucking embraced the Military Industrial Complex and made the majority of Americans think it was unpatriotic not to do so!!!

You want to know why America can pay for healthcare and why Social Security is such an atomic bomb in national politics? Because of Reagan's excessive military spending on programs that were just complete bullshit designed to line the pockets of rich fucks. Remember SDI? The Strategic Defense Initiative? It was Reagan's military business CEOs wanting more money, and Reagan pushed through the spending measure on some program in which laser satellites were going to shoot down Soviet ICBMs... yeah,... how completely idiotic does that sound. Considering the fact that no one knows if ICBMs actually will work... they've never been tested! Do yo know that! The idea of sending missiles over the North Pole is lunacy, because who knows if the extreme magnetism won't trip up the guidance system.

But Reagan tricked the public into thinking that America needed to outspend the Soviets, when it was known by the CIA DURING NIXON'S TIME that the Soviets were no real military threat... and yet, for another 15 years money was wasted on building up the military at the expense of reducing the deficit, money that could have been spent on renewable energy. Jimmy Carter had solar panels installed on the White House (which Reagan tore down like the complete jackass that he was), and just imagine if Reagan did help orchestrate Carter's defeat by colluding with the Ayatollah Khomenini and Carter's policies on getting the US off its oil addiction had been in effect for the another 4 years? Where would we be known regarding the quest for Green Energy Sources? A lot fucking further than we are now... but Exxon and the rest of Big Oil was funding Reagan and the rest of the GOP SOBs... to the benefit of whom? The top CEOs, Board Members and major block shareholders... at the expense of the planet and the American taxpayers wallets.

For much of the last forty years, ever since America "fixed" its race problem in the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, we white people have been impatient with African Americans who continued to blame race for their difficulties. Often we have heard whites ask, "When are African Americans finally going to get over it?

Now I want to ask:

"When are we White Americans going to get over our ridiculous obsession with skin color?
Recent reports that "Election Spurs Hundreds' of Race Threats, Crimes" should frighten and infuriate every one of us. Having grown up in "Birmingham" Alabama in the 1960s, I remember overhearing an avalanche of comments about what many white classmates and their parents wanted to do to John and Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King.

Eventually, as you may recall, in all three cases, someone decided to do more than "talk the talk."

Since our recent presidential election, to our eternal shame we are once again hearing the same reprehensible talk I remember from my boyhood.

We white people have controlled political life in the disunited colonies and United States for some 400 years on this continent.

Conservative whites have been in power 28 of the last 40 years. Even during the eight Clinton years, conservatives in Congress blocked most of his agenda and pulled him to the right. Yet never in that period did I read any headlines suggesting that anyone was calling for the assassinations of presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan, or either of the Bushes. Criticize them, yes.

How long before we white people realize we can't make our nation, much less the whole world, look like us?

How long until we white people get over the demonic conviction that white skin makes us superior?

How long before we white people get over our bitter resentments about being demoted to the status of equality with non-whites?

How long before we get over our expectations that we should be at the head of the line merely because of our white skin?

How long until we white people end our silence and call out our peers when they share the latest racist jokes in the privacy of our white-only conversations?

I believe in free speech, but how long until we white people start making racist loudmouths as socially uncomfortable as we do flag burners?

How long until we white people will stop insisting that blacks exercise personal responsibility, build strong families, educate themselves enough to edit the Harvard Law Review, and work hard enough to become President of the United States, only to threaten to assassinate them when they do?

How long before we start "living out the true meaning" of our creeds, both civil and religious, that all men and women are created equal and that "red and yellow, black and white" all are precious in God's sight?

Until this past November 4, I didn't believe this country would ever elect an African American to the presidency. I still don't believe I'll live long enough to see us white people get over our racism problem.

But here's my three-point plan:

First, everyday that Barack Obama lives in the White House that Black Slaves Built, I'm going to pray that God (and the Secret Service) will protect him and his family from us white people.

Second, I'm going to report to the FBI any white person I overhear saying, in seriousness or in jest, anything of a threatening nature about President Obama.

Third, I'm going to pray to live long enough to see America surprise the world once again, when white people can "in spirit and in truth" sing of our damnable color prejudice,

Dow Flirts with 10,000?!!?!? Where's My Wealth?!??!

So after a YEAR of dismal results and a Nero Burning Rome loss of wealth for the overwhelming majority of investors, the Dow Jones Industrial Average breached the 10,000 mark today -- only briefly though. That's a level the DJIA hasn't seen since right before the financial markets were freefalling into the abyss!

As I always stated the Dow is a fucked up means of measuring, judging, estimating economic activity (please, can we have new measurement, and we can't trust the GDP figures either), because the US economy is still in diarrhea-filled toilet -- unemployment has topped 10% (and that's going to be a persistent level of chronic, pervasive unemployment), the financial section STILL isn't lending money to non-financial sector businesses (obviously companies like Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase are making their bones), the retail sector is still anemic, and the housing market is just waiting for the next round of foreclosures.

The big Wall Street banks are posting increasing profits, mainly because of the trading the profits that they're making by trading amongst themselves.

Even if the DJIA has recovered to pre-shit storm levels, have the portfolios of John Q. Investors

Employers are still laying workers off, and the thing about that is, companies look "better" to Wall Street when they have less expenses, i.e. payroll and insurance premiums. This is one of the reasons why companies are looking "attractive" in the short-term (the next quarter or two), but that's what has gotten American companies in trouble in the first place. The slavery to Wall Street expectations and being offered up to the blood thirsty god Profit has forced most important and sustaining jobs offshore to China (where the government purposely keeps the currency artifically low, so the goods & services are cheaper than what they would normally be).

The New York Fed has set a new stage for the rich to get richer (just watch for all the bonuses that AIG, Goldman Sachs and the rest of the tax coffer robbers over the next couple of months), and because the Zero Sum Game is the only game in town in the current (and future) economy, be prepared to follow the rules of Machiavelli.

Weak Dollar... Street Rioting Is Next, Right?

Today the dollar lost value against the major international currencies (because Australia raised interest rates) and this prompted the Chinese to once again try to have oil priced in a different currency other than dollars; they’d no doubt prefer the yuan.

The problem with pegging ANY international commodity or means of valuing an object to the Chinese yuan, is that the Chinese government controls the convertibility of the yuan. As the yuan doesn’t “float” against other currencies and get valued by market forces, it is true value is suspect (currently the yuan is vastly undervalued, hence the reason why Chinese goods are so cheap on the international market, and one of the reasons why the Chinese economy is so strong).

The Russians have been trying to get oil priced in a different currency, Euros perhaps, for a long time, because as the Muscovites lost their superpower status, the schemers in the Kremlin wants some ability to be relevant again on the international stage. Not gonna happen for Moscow; that country is losing citizens like you wouldn’t believe (population has declined for the 15 year in a row, even with mothers getting a bonus check for having kids) and the economy is controlled by a few (like the US) who are wildly corrupt and use menacing and repellent violence to get what they want done (unlike the US).

Of course the Saudis have refused to price oil in anything other than dollars, and they summarily declined the Chinese request. This possibly has something to do with the little-publicized knowledge that the US can blow-up the Saudi refineries and petro-infrastructure. Plus there is some bizarre relationship between the Saudis and the US that can't be explained as to why the Saudis back the US's global powerplays when George Bush the Elder was most active on the global stage.

But perhaps in 7 years from now, when the US still hasn't regained any financial strength, the dollar will no longer be the pricing currency for any globally trade commodity (maybe pork bellies and oranges). When that happens, best believe the US economy will stumble into a depression that it'll never recover from. The dollar will weaken so much and the thirst for foreign oil won't have changed that much... and the US economy will have less buying power to get all goods that it wants. That's when the standard of living gets crazy as it nose-dives in way that will be unprecedented. The only precedent we have is the fact that when empires collapse it is UGLY!

Look, it's no secret that the $10 million dollars spent by the Healthcare Insurance industry did the trick in blocking and true, substantial healthcare reform (I don't GIVE A FUCK, what Obama and the White House says in the coming days and weeks, we The People, have been had).

But what's even more insidious is the court case going up to The Nine as the new term begins. Chief Justice Roberts begged to have the Citizens United v. Federal Election Committee get examined. This is the court case revolving around that smear video that was released during the Democratic Primary that made Hillary Clinton look unworthy of public office. The crux of the case is that Citizens United wants corporations to have GREATER rights that the average (or even above average) American Citizen. Citizens United wants to enable corporations to have unlimited campaign finance contributions during the last 30 days of an election cycle. Citizen United wants to Corporate Speech even MORE POWER to sway voters and influence the outcome of elections!

It's been clearly stated, proved and other proclaimed as fact that Corporate Speech (wtf?) is corrosive and distorting from jump!

If you want to hear the actual arguments from both sides in front of the Supreme Court, check out NPR's Supreme Court primer. I don't know how many times, if any, that you've heard people argue in front of the Supreme Court, but I never have... and I found it fascinating. Not being a legal scholar, many of the cases cited were beyond even me, but you'd easily get the drift (and I think the Oral Arguments are released as transcripts later, so you can do your own specific research).

The lawyer arguing for the right for Corporations to be make political campaign contributions that far outstrip what citizens can dig into their wallets and drop. In addition, Corporations can write off the contribution and/or borrow the money at interest rates that normal citizens can't get, therefore their political contribution power is WAY distorting.

The one thing I see, or rather hear, is that the GOP-backed Citizens United wants to hand over control of our electoral process to Big Business lock, stock and barrel. It's some complete bullshit that no Senator or Representative wants to supreme attack campaign finance and/or give the Federal Election Committee near autonomous power to re-regulate the elections in this country. The election cycle for these large scale offices shouldn't be more than 3 months tops! And the money needs to be capped and provided by the government, fuck allowing ANY private citizen or corporation to make any contributions to a candidates war chest.

If corporations obtain the power they're after, we could see foreign sovereign wealth funds buy up US corporations and be able to actively influence the way out country is governed!

The sad thing is I can't even urge you to pester your Congressperson and Senator about blocking this unholy opportunity, because the Supreme Court will be making the ruling that will decide the fate of democracy in this country. If the Nine allow corporations to actually have more rights and privileges that Joe Sixpack, then what's the point of having a Constitution?

Speaking of the Supreme Court, we're coming up on 20 years of having Uncle Tom Clarence Thomas on the bench, and he's been Scalia's lapdog for far too long. And since he's ineffectual, why doesn't he step down? He's gonna be one of these bastards that dies in office...

Senator Charles E. Grassley believes that a Public Option for Healthcare Insurance will ultimately force private insurers out of busines... is that a bad thing? I guess it is if you're running for national public office, because you can get so much campaign contribution (selling your asshole to get fucked by the big dick of the corporate oligarchs that are running things) from insurance companies.

Grassley claims that the Federal Public Health Program will run the market, and "that doesn't sound like a level playing field to me." Here's what's wrong with that jackass statement -- when is the playing field ever level? Particularly since the Reagan Revolution and the complete deregulation and destruction of the Unions pretty much canted the playing field - permanently in favor the 1% oligarchs who run things in this so-called democracy (what's that favored book? The Best Democracy Money Can Buy)... it's required reading to brush up on why political change favors the wealth and sticks it to the lower class masses (which is damn near everybody by the end for this Business Cycle).

Any Democratic Senators who are afraid of not getting re-elected if they vote FOR a Public Option in the impending healthcare reform legislation need to be voted out of office in ANY EVENT! Because they're letting their petty personal desire to stay in the Senate (and reap the personal benefits) override what is best for the American Citizenry... who they are supposed to be represent. It's funny (well, sad, actually), how money all of a sudden causes Senators to factor out the little man. Just because I can't contribute to your campaign, but live in your realm of control, doesn't mean that I'm not affected by your actions and votes.

The one thing I expect to happen regarding health care is that the American public still pays out the ass for insufficient healthcare. Whatever the "cost" of a Public Option is or will be, it's certainly going to be nowhere near the cost that Dubya and Tricky Dick's unwarranted war has cost us in seven years of struggle with a people that can't get their act together to at least better themselves. Saddam was one mean cuss, but he kept all those combustible Iraqi factions in their place. Although, if you think about it, what's happening now it was would have happened in any event once Saddam died. While this is the first major setback to President Barak Obama's desire for healthcare reform, it's actually the main critical factor -- because nearly all the other points can be linked back to the fact that there is no choice competitive choice when it comes to selecting an insurer.

You have to ask yourself, "what is so damn bad, wrong, outrageous, socialist(?) about having a different, COMPETITIVE option than the bullshit we're forced to choke on by the likes of Aetna, Cigna and Kaiser?"

What this really says about the power of the Voice of the People is that it has been diluted and nailed shut by the moneyed fat cats on Wall Street. Some national polls (Gallup, Time/CNN, etc.) have stated that 65% of the American people WANT a Public Option. It's not like that super-majority is asking for a Single-Payer System (which is what we should have or some variant of that, like in France*). but what the super-majority craves is an opportunity to not have to deep throat the smelly cock of Wall Street anymore. As much as I relish the fact that President Obama is a Black man up in the White House and it shattered some many societal ails, his biggest campaign contributor was Goldman Sachs... yeah, that investment bank that conned the American public out of $12B (while education only gets $4.3B)... so we're not going to see the "Change We Can Believe In" until the corporations get their dicks out of politics, all campaigns must only take public funds, and there's some rioting in the street (which after the Kent State Shootings... isn't going to happen, because articulate white people got shot then, and they don't want to get shot now. Other Western countries disallow corporate campaign donations, but we in America embrace it, and when that one case comes before the Supreme Court shortly which will decide if corporations can make UNLIMITED campaign contributions, there game will be over. The US of A will become akin to the USSR in terms of who is RUNNING SHIT!

Senator Max Baucus (D-Montana) had removed the Public Option possibility from his proposal, because he felt he couldn't get GOP/Republican/Confederate Party support. See that's the first BIG mistake, trying to reach out to those who blatantly act in service of the greedy, rapacious and blood-thirsty god called Profit... you don't engage the enemy, you make them kowtow to your agenda. Obama started out from a hat in hand position just by beginning the debate with his line in the sand being The Public Option, the fact that he wasn't pushing for Universal Healthcare for All through a Single-Payer System was him showing that he's got a cockleash on and the handle is controlled by Wall Street factions.

Do you know that Corporations have "better" rights in America than its citizens? They can avoid being sued and have any meaningful recourse taken against them... no company goes to jail for killing people, no company gets put out of business for treating the public like shit and peddling a crappy product that turns around hurts consumers and the environment.

The majority of Americans - both hemispheres - live in a Third World status; I can only postulate that Canada is the only First World Country in the Western Hemisphere, and that's because I don't know if 95% of Canadian wealth is in the hands of 1% of the Canadian population. When then International Monetary Fund and the World Bank stroll around the global stage looking to uplift countries where the wealth disparity is a mirror image to what we have in the good ole US of A, the first thing they would do is say, "you have to break down these oligarchs (that's the term one uses when the upper 1% has such complete control of the wealth) who run the banking and financial services sector they have TOO much wealth and they throw around the muscle the wealth affords them to rig elections, grab the government's dick - squeeze it hard -- and force the government, which is supposed to be run by the people, to continue to pass laws that feed more and more wealth back to the Upper 1%.

Where's the American Hugo Chavez? That's what I want to know?

Is there really any reason why the top personal income tax rate shouldn't be 50% or 60%? I'm in the lower class, and I can routinely pay damn near zero percent income tax (usually around 5%), so imagine what the razor-sharp accountants are doing for someone who's making say $500,000/year?

He made one supremely telling statement, a CEO of an Insurance company got up in front of the Senate and made some statement about how employees are encouraged to drop long-paying customers who happen to get sick, because they need to boost profits. The same CEO said this is done because of "Wall Street's Relentless Profit Expectations" - THIS is the true barbarian at the gate, ready to rape and pillage. In fact, it (Wall Street's thirst for ever increasing profits) has been pretty much raping, pillaging and stealing from the general public UNCHECKED since Ronald Reagan rolled up into the Oval Office.

We don't even really know how tight the Corporate Power Structure

There was a recent episode of Warren Olney's Show Which Way L.A. in which he was discussing the fact that most medical students avoid being general practitioners because the pay is so low and the cost to run an office and deal with the bullshit insurance bureaucracy siphons off any kind of cash that they may make. This doctor from the heartland of California was talking about how specialists get three and four times the amount, when a regular internist can provide the same care. And another doctor was stating that the drug companies pay kickbacks and bonuses to doctors who prescribe their pharmaceuticals... or the sales reps for the expense ass machines like MRIs also pay kickbacks when those machines are incorporated in part of the regimen for ATTEMPTING to deduce what is wrong with someone. The fact that all these doctors and hospitals are in the pocket on the Drug Companies isn't shocking, it's appalling. It makes you wonder if you can really trust the diagnosis, because the doctor making the claims could be making enough cash for the mortgage on his vacation home by slangin' oxycontin or xanax or God knows what other drug is being prescribed (like all the fucking anti-depressant drugs that are on the market. There's even boost Anti-Depressants that extent the reach of shit like Zoloft.

Americans need to be very afraid of the Corporate Power Structure, it's not just the military industrial complex that we need to be vigilant about, it's the financial-industrial-chemical complex that is standing with its foot on our neck, and must people are just too dumb to realize it.

Paul Krugman's NYTimes Editorial excoriated the right-wing/GOP/Confederates and the outright lies that they're offering the public as the alternative to Obama-care; these lies serve who? You guessed it!

But Krugman makes some interesting points about how potentially ungovernable the nation is (just like California has proven to be), because of the lines drawn in the sand by the members of the Republican / Confederate party, "Given the combination of G.O.P. extremism and corporate power, it’s now doubtful whether health reform, even if we get it — which is by no means certain — will be anywhere near as good as Nixon’s proposal (you have to read the whole article for this explanation), even though Democrats control the White House and have a large Congressional majority.

And what about other challenges? Every desperately needed reform I can think of, from controlling greenhouse gases to restoring fiscal balance, will have to run the same gauntlet of lobbying and lies.

I was just laid-off a week and a half ago by my chump employer Houston Casualty Company -- they gave me a bitch severance package and then shorted me on the 4 days of PTO that I accrued and didn't use!

So I'm scouring the internet for jobs, whatever job I can find at this point, and it seems really fucked up in Los Angeles, where I think the Unemployment Rate is around 15 to 20% (unofficially).

As I'm watching some Ted Kennedy Death Coverage on CNN, a commercials runs about an unemployed breadwinner... and then it turns into an admonishment of the Obama Administration for letting 1.5 million immigrants into the country to take our jobs. It was provided by the The American Worker some group that is no doubt a front for some GOP/Confederate Political Action Committee that's trying to keep non-Whites from coming to this country.

The thing is this commercial is targeting LEGAL Immigrants, because there's no way for the government to measure and/or stop the flow of illegals. And from what I recall, you can't come to this country to work unless you get one of those 41-B Visas... and to get those, your employer has to submit paperwork to the government that indicates you, as the immigrant, have a skill that an American CANNOT fulfill. Most of the legal immigrants with sanctioned visas are usually scientists, mathematicians and computer programming specialist -- all jobs that American students over the past 25 years didn't concrete on or there's just a huge need for those skills.

Incidentally, illegals are doing jobs that white people typically have never done (as Blacks were around and those were all the jobs they could get, like janitors, trash men, housekeepers, basically shit manual labor jobs) or that Blacks won't do anymore since the Civil Rights Movement (unless they really have to mop floors and take out trash, which is usually the case for young, Black men 'cause they've been in jail). I'd really like to see a white housekeeper -- MAID -- that is, a young white janitor -- just doesn't happen.

So I take severe umbrage with this political group American Worker, what the fuck? You mean to tell me that some immigrant is going to take a job that just doesn't exist anymore? And he might not get a second turn, unless the economy REALLY turns around by 2012.

Now, if you honestly believe that private industry can handle ALL THINGS better than the federal government, then we need to task private industry with assembling, training, and commanding the armed forces. Surely, it would cost less... in fact, the Pentagon could see it's budget slashed by 40 to 50%, if not more (now some of them Black Ops and Dark Projects would still need to be handled by the government, because in the hands of private industry those secrets might just be sold the highest bidder) and we can let those mercenaries dictate the fate our interests here and abroad.

Oh... I forgot we're already doing this in Iraq, and from the reports that have trickled back that money-hungry mercs have performed well, but they've fucked shit up, too, and are no-doubt doing/did a vast amount of raping, pillaging, confiscating and general, all-around war profiteering. Medicare and Medicaid and the Veteran's Administration are run by the government... with hit or miss results. Sure the VA has showed its ass, but so has private industry... take a look at the meat packing industry... shit, agri-business in general, that's not run too well is it? So many corners are cut just to make a buck! And we all know that's what happens with the private insurance companies. Insurance is the biggest racket there is, hands down... because of all the indecipherable fine print that dictates these exclusionary cases that one has no idea could come into effect, because the permutations that have to occur to get something "right" is just as elusive as it is to get something "wrong" when it comes to being covered by the policy. However, when you are sick and/or in pain, you don't think about these things, you just, "I have insurance, I'm covered" and then bill from the unwaveringly callous accounting office arrives... and you see that you still going to be out of pocket by some $300 to $1000 that you didn't expect!

Americans have this ethos about working until we drop, and that hard work will pay off and allow you to live the best life that you can hope for you. Now that's a crock of shit that is continually sold by hook or by crook by all these people who don't understand sociology and how socio-economics playout in our imperfect union.

I was listening to the Public Radio International show TO THE POINT yesterday and the main story was about how Blacks an Latinos have a disproportionately high level of home foreclosures... the reason behind this? A resurfacing and repackaging of an old technique that white people used to fuck with people of color, this time it's called REVERSE REDLINING!!! This is where the insidious bankers/mortgage brokers specifically target Black and Latino homeowners and sucker them in to taking out subprime loans on their homes. Not because these people have bad credit ratings, far from it! There only could have been just being financial ignorant (truth be told, many of those exotic subprime loans are DESIGNED to confuse the borrower) and that banks, all the major banks, have systematically pulled out of servicing the so-called Ghetto.

Criminally evil bank Wells Fargo was particular malignant and malicious in its predatory activity. They're being sued by the City of Baltimore for their wide-spread practice of reverse redlining. Employees have stated under oath that they called Blacks and Hispanics, "Mud People" and were going to saddle "these idiots with ghetto loans." I'm surprised there hasn't been any emails released outlining this Anti-Nigger Machine Practice.

I was watching Fox News Channel the other day and they had this "Canadian" citizen on talking about how the universal health care system in Canada failed her when it came to diagnosing and treating her cancer. How she got the run-around, and then she ultimately had to come to the US to find the right specialist to save her life (first of all she should have gone to Cuba and saved a lot more money and gotten equal or better treatment).

But this is a PISS POOR case example, because we all know that "The System" wasn't the reason why this bitch was misdiagnosed... it was that she had bad doctors, and bad doctors aren't exclusive to national health care systems -- shit, just look at all the malpractice cases that are filled EVERY WEEK in the US with it's so-called top quality health care. The US falls behind MOROCCO in terms of overall health care for its citizens, so no shit talking about nationalized health care being for chumps who embrace socialism. It doesn't matter how health care is paid for, you can have a bad doctor. [Say it isn't so, Ramses, say it isn't so!!!] I mean just because you pay out the ass for a doctor's visit THAT YOUR HMO TOLD YOU WHO YOU COULD SEE doesn't mean that they're steering you to the best practitioner. So President Barak Obama has reopened the health care debate, and not a minute too soon.

We all know that American health care system is WAY BEYOND FUCKED UP... consider that over 40% of all personal bankruptcies are the result of medical bills; medical bills that some managed care network refused to pay-up on a good portion of the treatment that was need to extend someone's life. Let alone fully improve one's health condition.

I'm in a boat like that myself, all though it's not catastrophic yet. I was living in an apartment where the Jackass Landlord Steve Ringel had a building that was build in the 1920s and had black mold in the units, but he was a typical slumlord and decided to cover up the bio-hazard and the rent the unit(s) anyway. I started getting these migraine headaches that kept me out of work for a good two weeks in total... and I racked up at $4000 medical bill at UCLA (doing all sorts of tests that didn't track down the cause, just pinpointed that I was having a severe allergic reaction to some substance... they didn't know what though, so even after all those cash outlay I had no answers).

I was watching TV a little bit this week and the talk about socialized health care was popping up, because President Obama wants the mess fixed while he's vacationing, so when he comes back in the Fall it's the big debate/issue that's going to consume all his time and expend a huge amount of his political capital.

Today, I just so happened to catch Michael Moore's SICKO (2007) on Starz; now I have never seen this film, before but it was extremely eye-opening and made me not what to continue living in the US of A... I mean the country is teetering on bankruptcy anyway and will be for the foreseeable. So why stick around, ya know?

Aside from all the appalling shit that goes on in the denial of care because people have to get permission from those insurance fuckers to get treatment, I was particularly interested in the trips to Canada, the UK and France that Moore took to see out other countries deal with the health care issue. There was an interesting bit in SICKO were Moore is kickin' it in Paris, and he's having dinner with a group of Ex-Pats, and this black woman points out that in France the government is actually afraid of the people, afraid that they might riot -- and they have a history of the people rising up and slaughtering the government (Robspierre and the Rein of Terror)... 'cause you always hear about how the French are protesting some shit about wages in the news. Now, the woman pointed out that the difference in the US of A is, the people are AFRAID of the government.

This fear of the government is the complete antithesis of democracy, but it's continually propagated in the United States. And it's a shame, because people are either afraid to talk out of turn or get labeled as a troublemaker. For large part of the 20th Century civil unrest and protest (violent or non-violent) was a big part of the American way of life, of demanding social change.

Although, Americans don't engage in group civil unrest and agitation. You have to think about the last time the American Public was really out to protest the bullshit that the government is doing -- on a wide spread level. Outside of the African-American dominated, Million Man March from the mid 90s, it was the 1960s, but the Protest Gene was basically stamped out of the American Public Psyche by the Kent State University Shootings. Because prior to that, the government was up here shooting and beating and water-cannoning black people - when they had limited civil rights -- and the occasional whites, those whites who were poor and had nothing to lose. But in the 60s, middle class and lower upper class whites joined the protest bandwagon and were instrumental in achieving change in the fabric of society.

However, the Nixon Administration -- which was doing socialist shit itself by practicing Price Fixed regarding Gasoline -- was so against the social disorder that was part of the 60s ethos, that when the students at Kent State were bucked down like animals in the forrest... white people recognized that their sons and daughters could get slaughtered just like niggas in the South. That the taxpayers' progeny were endangered -- because they threatened the military industrial complex's stranglehold on the American People -- made these happy-go-lucky white people recognize that they've been cowed into an existence that was basically this: keep your nose to the grindstone, work your ass of, rack up as much consumer debt as you can't even afford (as you'll notice the modern credit card, which existed prior to the 70s, began to have an expanded reach since the mid 70s) and be afraid, be very afraid of what the government can, but more importantly will, do to you if you seriously step out of line.

Shit, not even seriously out of line, just step out of line a little bit and you'll have an FBI file opened on you (as I know there is one on my 'cause of this blog and the previous blog).

When I hear these GOP/Confederates sons of bitches rage on and on about we're being seduced by the Socialists or that Barak Obama is a Socialists. I mean come the fuck on, yeah, come the fuck on!

It makes you wonder what the health care industry is really about. sure, people are supposed to make a buck in this country - drug makers, physicians and all that, but do you, Kaiser, Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross, need to rip your paying customers a new asshole if they happen to need some sort of medical care?

Deluge the GOP congressmen and women with letters and emails, demanding them to quit acting like bitches on this health care debate.

But mark my words -- The Kent State shootings were a true watershed in the destruction of democracy in the United States.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but in Los Angeles the price of a gallon of gas has spiked 55% this year alone -- that's the biggest price increase ever seen! Gas is at $3/gal, and if you haven't been watching the price has gone up 34 days in a row.

The problem that too many Americans have, and perhaps most people around the globe, is that when something that is good for you is a little more expensive, people won't choose it. They'll fuck-up and select the bullshit item, because it's cheaper.

That's why Hybrids aren't all over the place - regardless of price. The IRS provided you a tax credit for the additional cost of buying a hybrid over the fucked-up internal combustion engine version, I still don't think people would make the right choice - bitches - because cash returned in the future doesn't seem to have any present value.

What the fuck is wrong with people? I guess the TOKYO Big 3 will serve up more versions of their popular cars as Hybrids, but for some reason those bitches in Germany haven't announced any hybrids. So GM final sailed down the river... and who is really surprised? I mean since the first oil shock in the 1970s, the major US automakers have had no answer to the basic, fundamental business question of, "what do consumers want?"

Back in 2002, I read this book called HIGH AND MIGHTY, written by the NYTimes Detroit bureau chief, it's an scathing indictment of the SUV segment of the auto industry. Here's what I learned from that book... that the US automakers LOST MONEY on every car that they made. Every car! They only made money on the light trucks, and that's because they had cheated the fuel standards through effectively lobbying in Congress over the decades.

Now it stands to reason that if you lose money on something -- regardless of how vital it is supposed to be to the core of your business -- you subconsciously won't spend the money, mental resources and creative thinking to actually figure out how to make a profitable car. Ousted, good-for-nothing CEO Rick Wagoner said the pernicious killing of the EV-1 was the biggest mistake of his career! No shit, ya dumb fuck! Uh, back in 1976 it should have been apparent that oil was in the hand of crazy bastards who jockeyed camels and that oil was a finite resource who's price wasn't really subject to normal supply & demand theoretics, so to find a way to make a fuel efficient automotive vehicle or a non-fossil fuel vehicle should have been job one! (Ford's bitch-ass slogan of Quality is Job One, should have been innovation is job one! Not just 25!)

Imagine if back in the early 1990s, GM decided to subsidize the EV-1 and subsequent electronic car technology with the outsized profits it was raking in on shit like the Hummer and Escalade?

Also, Wells Fargo has a pernicious means of squeezing every fucking drop of extra spare cash that you might have when you choose to have a checking account with them, and are living paycheck to paycheck -- as far too many fucking people have been doing for at least the last 18 months, if not longer. Wells Fargo has this damning policy called Continuous Overdraft Charge, which is a $5.00 charge for every other day that your account remains in the negative.

How did your account go negative? If you're really fiscally responsible you can STILL BE FUCKED IN THE MOUTH AND ASS AT THE SAME TIME because the bank decides when to deduct money from your account, such that they can send you into a deeper overdraft if you have a check for $15.00 (say for your gas bill) and a debit card purchase for $178.87 for groceries one business day later. At this time you only have 193.85, now instead of rejecting the debit card purchase while you're in line (yeah, that's too bad and perhaps embarrassing)... Wells Fargo EXTENDS YOU UNASKED FOR CREDIT for the two cents that you are short, and charges your $35 for it!!!

What they're essentially doing is charging your interest on a loan that they are giving you, if you happen to go into the Red, because you might have been two or three cents short of a debit card transaction. And they're charging you an outrageously high rate.

No, this is blog entry about the NBA Play Offs, which just started over this past weekend. I'm not too interested in the games this year, and I've noticed that I've been waning with my attention/caring for the Game, because of the Playoffs. But wait you say, "aren't the Playoffs the best time to watch? what you've been waiting for all year?"

Well, yeah that's true, but there's not really any excitement in the playoffs... because of the current format. See, when the David Stern bowed under pressure to change the first round from 5 games to 7 games series, he stuck a hot poker up the ass of the fans' anticipation. Because it's nigh impossible for an 8 seed to vanquish a 1 seed -- a moment immortalized when the NBA was on NBC and there was game maybe back in 1991 or 1992, where the Denver Nuggets led by Robert Pack and Dikembe Mutumbo (who's STILL muthafuckin' playin') beat Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp's Seattle SuperSonics... the Number 1 seed.

Also, who really wants to see a 7 Game series between the Number 1 seed in the East versus the Number 8 seed? It was disappointing to see The Celtics get pushed to the limit by the Hawks last year. I mean, that series might have gone 5 games (in a Five Game series) and maybe the Celtics would have lost... TALK ABOUT A MAJOR UPSET. And the upset is what the fans thrive on, because it amps up the chaos factor... and that's where the true magic moments are made.

The anticipation is destroyed when there's no chance of chaos, because take this year, while 16 teams are in the Playoffs, we know that the Finals are going to be played by the Cavs, the Celtics or the Magic against the Lakers and maybe New Orleans or the Spurs... but it's pretty much the Lakers and the Cavs... because they will grind out a team the Best of 7 format that is currently being played.

So where's the anticipation, no one is going to pull an upset... like a Number 7 seed taking that first game in a five game series, because that's when it becomes what the immortal Chick Hearn called "Nervous Time."

David Stern would do himself good, by changing the Playoff Series format....

I don't see why the DEA doesn't claim that this is a national security issue and have the Pentagon send in at least ten Delta Force Units to beat some ass or, or send in some CIA black ops with the laser targeting devices to drop some smart bombs throughout Juarez, Tijuana and the other drug strong holds. Surely, the Intel can pinpoint the strongholds so the USAF can drop some daisy-chain bombs up side the head of these crazy people.

Oh, but wait! We haven't been able to find bin Laden in the last 8 years, so we can't count out any actionable intel!

Now what's crazy is that these Mexican Naro-mafias use AMERICAN MADE weapon systems! Talk about your export dollars! Seriously though, the weapons manufactures (no need to name names as we all know who those people are) should be able to track the sale of CRATES of their munitions! I mean, fuck a duck!

Ever noticed how the police force in most countries always seems woefully outmatched by the drug gangs? Even in the US that's the case, but our military is luckily (hopefully) uncorrupted at the local level. The Latin American military complex - whether that's the military or the local police, just don't seem to have the . I wonder if joining the military in those countries creates the same sense of patriotism? Sure, Gi Joe's get disillusioned, but how many of the average grunts take payouts and turn a blind eye as they let criminals stomp on the American Flag. I think American Soldiers have a sense of jingoistic patriotism regarding the American flag and what it stands for, which perhaps gives us an edge in combat situations. I don't know any other country whose troops would stand for being in a state of war for six plus years and still be effective... maybe the old Soviet Union, but that's high suspect. And the new Russians actually like going to war, because it gives them an opportunity to pillage (ask the Georgian victims from last summers invasion).

Is the potential solution that President Barak Obama has put forth to rescue the country from continued economic contraction and collapse, so damn fucking bad that Rush and the Republican/Confederates have to shout him down and claim that spending tax-payers' money isn't going to solve anything? So to just cut he fuck out of taxes and rip to shreds all sorts of regulations -- regulations designed to prevent the conniving, greedy and reprobate from taking advantage of those who wish to live a simple happy life? Now, you could argue that capitalism is the ultimate economic survival of the fittest, but we know or we should know and therefore fucking acknowledge that the US doesn't and hasn't practiced anything close to so-called pure capitalism since the terms was invented? All of our laws basically usher in a socialism, a sense that the common, public good is better served by empathy than allowing the hairy, hidden hand of market forces to determine people's fates?

The country can survive amazing amounts of debt, as I'm sure the percentage of the debt ratios and values -- in inflation adjusted dollars might not be so out of whack. Not being a dye-in-the-wool economist, nor do I have access to CPI numbers for the past 30 years at my fingers tips, but I'm sure there is a case to be made that this trillion dollar bailout from the Confederate/GOP/Republican/WBN Party Agenda isn't so exclamitorially huge.

“What Does Obama Mean?” as in, is he the personification of that old Hollywood staple The Magic Negro? If you’re not keenly aware of this issue, it’s basically this – in many a Hollywood movie, a white hero gets into trouble (usually morally or spiritually or metaphysically) and he runs into a Black person who has all the answers for what ails this white boy, i.e. Will Smith in The Legend of Bagger Vance, Whoppi Goldberg in Ghost, Morgan Freeman in Driving Miss Daisy, Regina King in Miss Congeniality, and that’s just to name a few… I didn’t even think about it or use IMDb.com to get a comprehensive look at the sub-genre. The sad thing is that Obama NEEDS to be the Magic Negro for the United States, because the country has lost it’s way spiritually, morally, economically and respectability.

Obama’s first piece of major legislation will be this Stimulus Package (the Fair Pay Act is overdue and should had been decided by the Supreme Court a few years ago, but that's what happens when GOP/WBN Justices sit on the high court). President Obama's package will cost in close to $800bn (and for some reason that might not be enough!!)… and then he needs to handle the second $350bn of the TARP funds… hopefully, this time President Obama will be smart about who gets that money and what they do with it; perhaps he’ll take a cue from what Gordon Brown is doing in the UK, he’s making the banks sign binding contracts that they will make credit more available with the bailout money (instead of just propping up a flagging balance sheet!) – otherwise, we can safely assume that the Wall Street Fat Cats will make sure they keep their jobs through this crisis and be in position to rise again like a phoenix when the economy final emerges from the ashes…

It’s curious that President Obama’s first televised interview was with an Arab news channel and the never-ending tension in Israel was discussed. It surprised me that Qaddafi dropped a potential solution in the NYTimes Op-Ed pages a few days back… but truth be sure, the Holy Land situation will not work itself out until the Palestinians can begin to up lift themselves and have a functioning economy. If the US really wants to send shock waves, they need to drop a gang of cash on the new Palestinian governing entity and boost their tattered economy with more vigor that our own!

President Obama also took aim at bin Laden and al-Qaeda’s claim that Barak was a House Nigger… he basically said that their principals were passé and bankrupt, because all they offer their followers and Muslims/Arabs in general was violence and beat-down lifestyles. I mean, what Muslim terrorist group has ever actually DONE GOOD for the Jaleel Hooka (i.e. the Arab world’s Joe Sixpack) and the rest of the Arab Street? They promise change, but all the do is bring misery and failed attempts at bringing Middle Eastern Society into the 21st century… On a certain level, these militant groups enable it so the despots can still run shit with a sword to the neck, a cattle prod to the nutsack and an iron first to the face.

You know what I fucking hate right now… the telephone. My current wage-slave is answering phones (among other things) at a completion bond company… it’s god-awful, because I answer maybe 200 incoming calls a day – talk about having every ring of the phone distract and throw-off your concentration. I took this job, because I need steady income as the Writers’ Strike totally derailed my writing career and any opportunities that we starting to come. Not to mention my coke-head manager was throwing sabots into the works!

But now it’s extra worse, because of the flagging economy, I’m behind on my muthafucking bills and the Creditors are calling again. I went through a period back in 2004 and 2005, when I was jobless for about 6 months and had Creditors calling me every single fucking day asking for money.

It’s a point now where I cringe whenever the phone rings – it’s ringing right fucking now – because it’s either assholes at my job calling up looking for my boss or it’s assholes looking for money that I don’t have.

What’s really the shits is I can’t get a new job! I’ve been trying for a new job since last July, and nothing. Only two or three interviews… and that’s it. I guess I can’t really complain because I do have a JOB…

- Change the way Americans consumer energy

- Enact Public Healthcare for all Americans

I'm glad that Barak Obama and his Michelle were restrained through the entire ceremony, because Blacks, in general, get associated with emotionalism far too much (witness Cuba Gooding, Jr., Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx) -- his speech was powerful, but not the oratory soar that we might have expected. However, it was great from start to finish and didn't get too emotional or peppered with "remember this" lines -- that would have cheapened the moment. Far be it from me to laugh a dumb-ass politicians (well, that’s not true) – but U.S Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald rancorously stated that that Roddy Blag had “taken the state to a new low!”

What’s even more fucked in the head is, Roddy Blagojevich was daring the Authorities to wire tap him! Daring them! In my experience when a muthafucka does that, it’s time to check with the FBI ‘cause you best believe they is already recording all that muthafuckas convos! And such was the case with Blagojevich… I’m mean, I don’t know who is worse Orenthal James Simpson, disaffectionately called “The Juice” or Rowdy Roddy Blageojevich! What kills me is that Blagojevich had been under investigation for FIVE FUCKING YEARS because of his extra dubious fund-raising and influence-peddling schemes – and apparently he was oblivious to the Feds on his ass or, or once Obama had solidified his DC power-base and knew that he needed a Senator to help him keep the dead GOP from coming back to life, Obama pressure the US Attorney to drop a hammer on Rowdy Roddy. What’s irked me is Gary Bauer’s comments (that shameful Washington lobbyist) in that he dismissed Powell’s endorsing of Barak as an irrational act of racial solidarity. He's backing Barak 'cause they're both light skinned niggas? Please! McCain showed the pink of his ass by selecting Sarah Palin, that in itself should disqualify him from assuming power... should he win the election.

Bauer's comments smack of old skool bigotry, because most Black people in the Street have NEVER dapped up Colin Powell. In fact his name is routinely mispronounced as Colon, not Colin… it indicate that shit just passes through him.

Obviously he needs to make amends for being the Voice of the Bush Doctrine at the UN to convince people across the globe that the WMDs did in fact exist. A man has he been smarting since then.

So suck a left nutt Bauer, and keep your check book open as you write more checks to keep your self in the mix inside the Beltway, as your failed ideology continues to wreak havoc with the country at large.

Judge and Jury are forced to confront each other

To there was a groundbreaking case before the Supreme Court about discrimination during jury trials. The issue at stake is that prosecuting attornies were using their pre-emptory strikes (where they can just say, "you, you're off the jury" no questionsed asked) to systematically remove Blacks (and probably other minorities, too) from jury pools.

The Supreme Court, in a 7 - 2 Ruling, overturned a 1996 case in which the DA took five niggas off the jury, and sealed this ex-G.I. Joe's fate and sent him to death row by packing the jury with white folks. The details of the jury selection revolve around thsi one Black 26-year old student, who offered up some potential excuses that the trial might force him to miss a few days of class, and he was concerned about that. Even though the dean of his school said it would be okay, the DA kicked old boy off... so he could keep this one white dude on the jury, who was a contractor with two houses under construction and a wife coming home from the hospital after a major surgery, and he had no help at home. Now, who really needs to be removed?

The prevailing justices stated that it was egregious for the prosecutors to behave this way, and now they were on blast -- you kick niggas off the jury, then your conviction is apt to be overturned.

And the issues raised by Rev. Jerry Wright are labeled outrageous?

You make the best of what’s still around… a favorite line from a great Sting song called, “Another Day”; steal the mp3 from somewhere (like gomusic.ru) if you haven’t heard it. It was written in the early 80s, so it’s most poignant today… as we’re re-living those harsh economic times… although our times might be harsher than the ear of Stagflation.

People are scared these days, really scared because under the last three GOP administrations the country has scurrilously outsourced too many jobs. People are looking for scapegoats, best be sure; point in fact (this isn’t funny, but it’s hilarious) Lehman Brothers C.E.O., Richard Fuld, got punched in the company gym after it was announced that the firm was going under.

Allan Greenspan, the so-called maestro, admitted today, “I made a mistake in trusting that free markets could regulate themselves without government oversight.” First of all, the free market NEEDS to be regulated, it always has been – just think about the early days of the industrial revolution in England when kids were put to work in factories, because they were cheap labor. And the “Free market” demands the cheapest possible inputs.

FUCK THAT!

The Free Market is so rapacious and insatiable with its desire for continued growth at the expense of damn near everybody. And the sick joke is, American Culture still inculcates its citizens with the antiquated concept of “fair play.”

Greenspan expressed the real problem with this statement, “I made a mistake in presuming that the self-interests of organizations, specifically banks and others, were such as that they were best capable of protecting their own shareholders and their equity in the firms.” The financial markets have been run since the mid 80s by a bunch of modern day robber barons – but this time they aren’t being so magnanimous with their wealth when it’s time to die. It was pretty much writ in stone and writ large the members of the corporatocracy (see Secret History Of the American Empire) would rape and pillage – even at the expense of shareholder value and the integrity of the firm – with impunity ever since Enron was found out to be molesting its stockholders and the public at large. All so those “smart guys” could have these multiple multimillion dollar houses all over the US.

People are actually scaling back on medications – which is why we need to have an overhauled healthcare system. One in which the Insurance companies are cut the fuck out of the picture. Why is that if you get sick that you have to ask the insurance company if you can get treatment? You don’t ask the doctor what kind of treatment you require, you ask the claims adjuster if you can even have treatment that isn’t just a Johnson’s & Johnson’s band-aid, a slap on the back and a plastic smile!?!?

You know the oddest thing about Obama’s campaign on a socio-political viewpoint is that he’s raised huge sums of money (the GOP would say sickening sums, but fuck them). And this is interesting, because after raising $150 million in September, he’s only got a few weeks left to spend that money, and he’s probably still raising more.

He obviously needed these huge sums of money for his 30 minutes of triple network primetime airtime that he’s buying next week to put the ultimate pimp-slapping on McCain (and the GOP in general) next week. What he’s doing is completely unprecedented in American Politics! He’s basically arranging to have his own State of the Union before he’s even president (that is if he becomes president of this teetering republic), and he’ll break it down to the real (and false) Americans on that day – less than a week before the election – and expose the fraud and backstabbing and pocket-pilfering and general fuck-all-y’all mindstate that the GOP have been propagating since Newt Gingrich got his blasphemous Contract With America issued in the early 90s.

If I was an FBI agent, a crooked one that is, I would be tapping the houses and phones of many of the so-called power brokers in the country on Election Night, just to hear what this chumps have to say! How they react, how they scowl (as if I can hear scowling, but it’s possible!).

The money that this Black Man is commanding is more money than any black could hope to even dream about amassing for a political campaign. Do Votes Count?

So the Democratic Rules Committee gave Michigan and Florida half voting rights... not the best of circumstances, but not a terrible adventure in Presidential politics. Honestly, those two states shouldn't have any delegates sitting in the national committee because they broke the rules. But this is Presidential politics and Florida is involved so some shit was expected to come out of the process.

Most people predicted that each state would get half, and that's what happened.

What's interesting is that Puerto Rico is having a primary, because those people -- while I believe are US Citizens -- don't get to vote in the November General Election. So it's kind of stupid to have them vote in the primary, but I don't make the rules.

Did you see the HBO TV Moive "RECOUNT"? It was an interesting look at the debacle that was the 2000 Election... you would think that a movie about voting discrenpancies would be less entertaining than it was, not to say it didn't take me two viewings to get through it (as I nodded off the first time near the end). What it did do was shed some light on that main event that eventually led to the posting Prescott Bush's Grandson into the Oval Office and enabled him to take on the moniker of "The Nero of the Pax Americana" -- yeah, that's how he's going to be seen in the history books, the out of touch leader who not only led the country into a war that he knew never had a remote change of being completely under his watch or as easily or cheapily as he was told. I had an opportunity to read the new Oliver Stone movie called "W", a semi-trenchant look at George W. Bush's years in the White House and how that idiot got there in the first place. It's not going to be what you expect from Stone, because it's not a scathing lashing out attack of the worst president ever... no, it paints the man as a woefully incompetant manager, who could never live up to his parents' expectations.

I gotta give it to The GOP… as much as I hate their whole style, they are good at bushwacking the psyche of the American people and getting them to react on negative emotions, namely fear and anxiety. The Smear & Fear Election-Stealing Tactics that Karl Rove perfected for the GOP (they’ve been running this game to perfection since Willie Horton provided them with the means to take the 1988 election) has enabled John McCain to gain ground in this most important national election (not just for president but for Congress as well).

Government here in America is the best money can buy, that’s why so many will spend so much money for positions that on paper pay so little. Republicans understandably never tire of feathering their own nest. But the data are irrefutable: their policies damage the economy, grievously. Another eight years of such policies and we will be a full fledged colony of the Middle Kingdom… China that is for all you less-read readers..

My big issue with McCain and the GOP is that they tend to scare the shit out people who ARE NOT rich into thinking that Democrats are going to tax & spend – they’ll tax the uber-rich, yes, – and mount all these deficits. McCain and the GOP claim that taxing the rich flunks the economy, because taxing the poor and the middle-class over the last eight years (both directly and indirectly - through skyrocketing education, medical and energy expenses) has done so much good for the American economy!! Before it's too late, the GOP need to get ushered off stage.

Now let’s get this straight though… There's nothing wrong with being rich. But there's a LOT wrong with being greedy and hypocritical. And that pretty much sums up the Republican Party, remember what Bush memorably said? "This is an impressive crowd - the haves and the have-mores."

Conservatives whine, whine, whine about entitlements. Social Security is probably one of the most successful programs ever put in place - or would have been had Congress kept their hands out of the cookie jar. Medicare could have probably been fixed except Bush put in the Trojan Horse of prescription drug benefits, and to smear dog-shit in our face, disallowed Medicare to bargain with the drug companies. I always hear the NeoCons ranting about destroying FDRs legacy of entitlement programs and they almost have gutted them all, now what?

But the thing about the GOP is, it took the reins of power after Newt Gingrich’s sadistically oxymoronic “Contract with America” (more like Contract to Rape & Pillage America) and has served up a culture of arrogance, corruption and scandal! Remember that one congressman who was looking to suck the dick of the young Congressional pages? The fool who was actually championing a protection of minors bill in Congress?

The biggest trick the GOP have pulled off is making a huge swath of its base believing that McCain’s long-ago reputation as a maverick or by Ms. Palin’s appealing persona are okay: the Republican Party, now more than ever, is firmly in the hands of the angry Right, which has always been much bigger, much more influential and much angrier than its counterpart on the other side.

Where does all this asinine anger come from, I wonder? To a degree a substantial portion of it is cultivated by the confounding cultural and religious conflicts that rage within this country (for no good reason): fundamentalist Christians are actively outraged by Roe v. Wade and evolution in the schools. However, careful observation of the GOP stand-in for a cross burning in St. Paul over the past week will uncover that a health percentage of the Right’s “I Won’t Stand for This” attitude is based not on the claim that Democrats have done evil deeds (leave that to the GOP), but on the perception — with no credible or even semi-credible evidence to speak of — that Democrats look down their noses at regular people.

Like that is EVER the case… the GOP have sold to the proudly ignorant chumps that populate the Americana that we lament over that you’re supposed to vote Republican to stick it to an elite that thinks it’s better than you. The GOP has established a cultural cult since the era of Nixon, a cult foisted Dubya Bush up in the White House, a cult that celebrated his anti-intellectualism and made much of the supposed fact that the “misunderestimated” C-average student had proved himself smarter than all the fancy-pants experts (and what the FUCK is wrong with fancy pants?). If your measuring stick for being proved smart is letting the people that you pledge to protect go it alone, then Dubya should be a card-carrying member of Mensa.

Is it outlandish as fuck that the “party that has controlled the White House, Congress or both for 26 of the past 28 years, a party that, Borg-like, assimilated much of the D.C. lobbying industry into itself — until Congress changed hands, high-paying lobbying jobs were reserved for loyal Republicans — really portray itself as running against the “Washington elite”?

Yeah, that’s what McCain and the GOP are trying to do… and unless people get up off their asses and get Black registered to vote and make them vote in Florida, Michigan and Ohio on Election Day, then we’re in for SOME SHIT!

During Dubya's time on the throne, the economy has gone to shit -- except for the core uber-rich constituency of the GOP, the national defense is nearly crippled, we couldn't defend the country in another war if it meant the security of the nation -- unless a draft was put into effect.

I just don't see how McCain can make a case for his candidacy? Can someone tell me?

I mean if Anderson Cooper is more inclined to have rain whipped at him at 100 mph instead of putting a mic in the face of the GOP faithful (a term that translates into complete idiots who are out for the money-grab and play the "I got mine, so fuck you" brand of American politics and socio-economic behavior), then the entire country has to question the efficacy of the GOP in this election.

Senator Barak Obama picked Senator Joe Biden to be his running mate... it was predicted by many at least a month ago.
But let's think about this choice... it appears to be great on the surface. Smooth Barry and Joltin' Joe!

I wager it's the best possible choice, but the question is will Barak let Joe do all the shitting on McCain?

I was just skimming through this week's TIME magazine, the one with Barak's face on the cover with the "Special: The Democrats" emblazoned across the top, and Joe Klein -- ever the nay-sayer (with good reason, though) -- makes a specific point about Obama needing to actualize his feelings to actionable items that will enable white people to get with the program.

See the way I see it, it didn't matter who Obama chose for his Veep (except for Hillary, still too much of a lightning rod; plus Bill didn't want her to win anyway... on that in a second), because what the race ultimately comes down to is:
Will the non-Black Americans -- whites, latinos, East Asians, and South Asians -- pull the arm in the ballot box for a Black man? The most vilified personage on the planet for the past 400 years? Think about it 400 years Black people have been demonized by whites, and most violently in the mass media age of the past 50 to 75 years (glossy photographs and film strips really know how to make a nigga seem to be the Public Enemy No. 1 for all God fearing Americans... and anyone who aspires for the American Dream (the piece of propaganda that the entire world had bought, until Dubya Bush assumed the reigns and stuck his limp dick into everyone's ass).

Of course a good percentage of whites have voted for Barak, but will they do so when it counts? The true believers are all the under 25 year olds, and shit even the under 21 years olds -- these people, this section of the population can make history on such a proportion that it'll be, it'll be Historical!!! Shit, if I know another word that summarizes what's going to happen better, do you?

Joe Biden has been someone I thought could have been a President in various other election cycles, and perhaps he might get his chance to run for the big office in eight years, but we'll have to see what the next few weeks tell us... it's Obama's election to lose and he needs to stay on message -- the GOP, led by Dubya Bush, fucked this country's economy and allowed the uber-class to make more money than they should have at the expense of those who toil and break their backs to make these rich peeps their cash -- wage slavery is a term I throw around quiet a bit, but think about it... working hard under the Bush regime... has done nothing to get you ahead. Working with a hand in the cookie jar and plastic ranch-flavored smile on your face is how you get your cash... can anyone say Jack Abramhoff?

On to my statement about Bill Clinton, this is the man who made us think twice when he claimed that getting his dick slobbed on in the Oval Office WAS NOT CONSIDERED SEX!!! Now a man that smart, that shrewd with his words didn't loose his ability to stay on message when he dropped all these bombs during the Primary that made him fall out of favor with the preponderance of Blacks, the Blacks who loved him like they ain't supposed to love no white man!

So we want to see Biden be the attack dog for Obama, but Barak needs to do the jugular slices himself. It's a perfect way to tag-team the so-called Maverick, and send the GOP rule.

It's nothing short of state-sanctioned revolt that we as a people get the GOP out of the cone of power IN ALL FEDERAL BRANCHES... especially the Supreme Court. Perhaps that John Grisham novel, I believe it's called The Pelican Brief, should be dusted off the shelf.

IOC - Why No China Smackdown?

I've been watching the Olympics pretty much every day since they started up, and outside of the fact that Michael Phelps' achievement was about as anti-climatic as The Dark Knight taking the top box office slot for close to month, the one thing that had me extremely curious was the whole thing with the Chinese living up to their agreements with the IOC.

What agreements am I talking about? Well, if memory serves the International Olympic Committee (aka the IOC) can’t be considered a smart international body (which is probably an oxymoron in any event) with any kind of true or respected power; because they made a colossal blunder when they awarded China the 2008 Games way back in 2000 (I think it was).

Not only has a country with such human rights abuses ever hosted the games, outside of Nazi Germany (and even Hitler at the time wasn’t executing 10,000 dissident prisoners a year in 1936), but China also threatens the environment with it’s wanton unchecked industrial machine. Shit, U.S. Cyclists are up here wearing masks as they travel around Beijing, hoping to avoid as much pollution as possible – as it will surely fuck up their lungs and respiratory system. I wonder how the marathon participants are going to respond during the actual event?

There’s been lots of talk about some concessions that China was SUPPOSED to do in order to gain the official sanction of IOC, and apparently China hasn’t done or even attempted to do most of these. Surprise, surprise, the Middle Kingdom didn’t answer to anyone.

So the question is, what can the IOC do to enforce its rules and regulations – on a national level – and not be looked at as some lame duck bunch of yahoos. Even that fiasco with the Iraqi national team smacked of, “they don’t know what the fuck they are doing.”

The IOC needs to strip China of its participation in the 2012 Games outright – just not let their athletes compete in the 2010 or 2012 games.

POP CULTURE REVIEW: The Return of NEXUS

A couple of weeks ago I was down at the annual San Diego Comic Con, something I've been going to for the plast 15 years and I've seen it grow and grow and grow, and maybe not for the better. It's gotten away from comics and that subcultre, and absorbed video games (stealing some of the thunder from E3) and most recently becoming a launching pad for Hollywood's TV and movies that aren't the prestige films vying for Oscar potential in the fall of any given year.

This year I was pleasantly surprised, nay shocked, to stroll by artist extraordinaire Steve Rude's booth to find that he was peddling yet-to-be published issues of NEXUS, the highly entertaining and intellectualy stimulating comic book that he and scribe Mike Baron had started back in the early 80s. These were the first new Nexus stories in 10 years! I had to buy what was being sold. And that was pretty all the comics I bought at ComicCon this year (incredibly). Why? Because Nexus holds a special place in heart as fabulous science fiction that never goes out of style.

I first became a fan of Nexus about 10 years ago when the last four issues of NEXUS were published by Dark Horse Comics. I read this mini-series where the fans got to chose who NEXUS killed. Which I thought was as strange gimmick at the time, but as I read the first issue I was hooked. NEXUS is the story of Horatio Hellpop, not your average or even above average super-hero... in fact, he's not even a superhero as one would typically define the term. Nexus is an intergalatic executioner of mass murderers... yeah, that's pretty trippy, but it makes for gripping sci-fi grist to mill into a fantastic comic series. Between the release of the first issue of "Nightmare in Blue" and the final issue (which would turn out to be the last one for a decade), I went crazy and hunted down the 93 previous issues that had been published off and on over the last decade (intially through Capital Comics, then First Comics, and then at Dark Horse) -- that wasn't an easy feat, but I completed the task (which probably would be quiet difficult today, because I didn't use eBay; I actually hunted down the issues from various comic stores in and around the LA area (and probably some at the 1997 San Diego Comic Con).

As I read the back issues, Nexus -- as Baron and Rude wove the tales -- was one of the most complex characters I've read in comics, as he was compelled to be an executioner, forced to be the conscience of humanity against his own will, but he carried the weight of that dark duty with an amazing amount of eventual clarity and understanding. Yeah, he struggled with the concept of being a murderer for whom murder isn't a crime... as that would psychically scare almost everybody.

Anyway, after buying issues 99 & 100 of NEXUS, the new issues that is, I sat down to re-read the entire Dark Horse run of the series to refresh myself with where the character is -- after a decade hiatus -- and it felt like revisiting old friends, who I hadn't seen in years. Funny that I felt that way from a comic character that isn't even a mainstream comic, but Baron's characters are that compelling, unique and enjoyable.

I'm just about to crack the cover the first new NEXUS published under Steve Rude's own publication imprint, and I'm giddy with excitement to see where these characters are after such I long time. I'm anticipating it to be great, but wonder if it's not going to live up to the internal hype that I've been creating for the last three weeks.

Dark Horse Comics has reprinted and republished the entire series as hardback books, that are extremely nice in their design and reproductive quality. I highly suggest anyone interested in cool sci-fi -- books or comics -- to go and pick-up the back issues that have been made readily available and immerse yourself in some of the best sci-fi, well, best fiction in the last twenty years (whether that's graphic novel or not).

Hey – so I’m posting again, after an absence. I’m obviously not posting enough, and there’s so much shit and people to rake over the coals. Lamentably, I’m getting no feedback via email – obfusc8@hotmail.com (if you have anything at all to say) as we’re less than 100 Days Away from the potentially most historical election in the history of democracy; not just the history of AmeriKKKA, but the whole damn world since the Greeks thought up the concept of the common plebs voting for the their leaders.

However, the ever-pernicious American Right Wing is at it again with their attempts to derail the Democratic nominee, Illinois Senator Barak “Barry” Obama. Extreme idiot and supreme bigot Jerome “Jerry” R. Cori has published a new book through a devious Simon & Schuster imprint caustically and provocatively entitled, “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality.” Jerry Corsi came to national fame in 2004 by publishing that treatise of boolshit that attack John Kerry’s Swift Boat actions during the VietNam conflict.

Kerry, an emasculated fob if there ever was one, didn’t know how to smack back at Karl Rove and the infernal machine that he was running… and Corsi’s book and the subsequent “swift boating” (as it became a nou/verb in the popular press) turned Kerry’s greatest triumph – a white-bred rich kid who volunteered for the stupid-ass VietNam Conflict and made good IN COMBAT – into his greatest Achilles’ heel. Talk about supreme political strategy!!! My one hand is still clapping for Rove et al.

At this point though, the gloves need to be taken off by the Obama camp. They need to sanction some diabolic attacks themselves, stuff that’s not affiliated with the campaign, but does all it can to stick a bramble bush up McCain’s bunghole!

Sure the Obama Faithful fired off a retort called “Unfit for Publication” (which isn’t a master title the way Obama Nation is… shame on you, Democrats) that refutes and negates the out-n-out lies that are in Jerry Corsi’s book.

I can’t figure out why Obama and his people can’t seal the deal and regulate McCain to the footnotes in the history books, unless I factor in race. And considering the masthead of this blog, I have to chime in on this fact.

THE RACE QUESTION IS THE REASON

People in America don’t want to admit PUBLICLY ON THE NEWS OUTLETS it that we’re still a nation of an overwhelming majority of supreme bigots, and that the whites throughout the land still have a hard time accepting that a Black man can have something intelligent to say WITHOUT a tone of a “you owe us” agenda. Obama doesn’t just speak intelligently, he does so without the hint of bitterness and the aftertaste of being dick-smacked by racism his entire life (which he no doubt has, but obviously has been able to compartmentalize those experiences).

I wonder what news outlets like el-Jazeera have to say about racism in the American Election campaign?

I would wager that they point to the hairy, hidden hand of “true-blooded” Americans who let their dicks swing when they enter any foreign country or get rowdy on our national holidays, you know the ones that muster up ye olde jingoistic spirit.

In Barak Obama’s recent speech today he touched upon the role that government needs to play in the 21st century economy… I’m sure too god damn many Adam Smith Acolytes and Milton Freeman dick-polishers hate this fact, and probably a large swath of uninformed Americans fit this bill, too. But let’s be real, China is the ultimate fascist state – I’m not talking about the bullshit mistaken identity that fascism has become known where people think it is analogous to National Socialism (i.e Nazism, which is fascism with a heavy, heavy religious component) but what the term actually means – corporatized government. China has many state-sanctioned entrepreneurs who are mega-billionaires, outstripping the wealth of many on the Forbes 400, and probably aren’t even considered because of propagandistic fears.

We face some unprecedented fucking changes in the way we live in the next 5 to 15 years… and the governments of other nations are moving forward with the speed of business AS BUSINESSES! You know all these sovereign wealth funds that having been popping up and buying huge chunks of American business? Why the hell doesn’t the US Government have some sovereign wealth funds that do that to foreign companies? I figure that countries that have barriers for foreigners to own companies (public or private) shouldn’t be allowed to purchase controlling interest in any Occidental stock markets.

In other news that parents of that sad little bitch who was killed name JonBenet Ramsey were cleared of any wrongdoing by DNA testing… now that story can go to rest, ‘cause I’m about tired of hearing about little bitch-ass kids like that getting hemmed up and murdered… it happens every day in this twisted country, that’s why they have Amber Alters, because a buncha sick mofo’s are kickin’ in the streets with a high sense of impunity.

So you’re gonna have to peep out Elia Kazan’s obscure masterpiece A FACE IN THE CROWD and see why life is imitating art with this Jesse Jackson dog-stained-shoe-deep-in-the-throat fiasco. Said “hot mic” fiasco has exposed Jesse Jackson as a jealous sour-grapes swillin’ fool! The most fucked-up thing about Jackson’s remarks – a desire to cut Obama’s nutsack from his person – is that a lot of white people think Black political figures like Jackson are spokesmen for the entire populace (which is just such a damn fool assumption)! The Black Voting Monolith has been something that Democrats have courted and taken for granted for decades. But this slip of the tongue blunder just makes those cronies from the Civil Rights era appear to be upset that no one of them and their ilk got this far in the race to the presidency.

Jesse’s been on the scene since before MLK fell into the gunsights of our Assassination Democracy, and for some reason he’s avoided getting shot at. I guess it’s because the Assassination Guild that is part of the Intelligence Community knows all of the skeletons in Jesse’s closet and most likely can wiggle the wrist of the hand that’s up his black ass and get him to operate the way that THEY see fit.

What’s funny about all the advances of personal computing, ergo the availability of wider and wider swaths of knowledge, is the cultural and technological forces are vying to create a level of public ignorance that is so high, so preposterous, so gianormous, that the foundation of our democracy is perhaps threatened.

Pollsters know that people lie about race (still!); votes rarely come out and say they will not vote for someone because he’s black (‘cause most people are cowards and afraid to state what’s really on their minds). Instead, they say things like what was heard in West Virginia and Kentucky – that “race is a factor.” Which anybody with half a brain would call an understatement considering the populace of those two states and their history with KND (Keeping Niggas Down). In Kentucky, over 25 percent of Clinton supporters said race was a factor in their vote – about FIVE TIMES the national average for such a question. Clinton, if she really wanted to do something lasting, could and would ask her supporters why the color of a fellow Democrat’s skin is so important to their vote. That would leave these closet-bigots stumbling for words… as they yanked the dog-shit stained shoe out of their mouths…

The Republican cabal — composed of the religious fundamentalist extremists on social issues, the radical tax cutters or “supply-siders” on fiscal issues, and the saber-rattling NeoCons on foreign policy — has produced only superficial religiosity with a nasty bend to it, a woefully failed war that is bankrupting the present and the future of the country and record deficits that look to cripple the next generation (should the current recession not humble America to an economy that is filled with a bunch of “remember whens”)…

Barak Obama has an opportunity to usher in a new age in American politics that must re-define the Post-Cold War, Post-9/11 National Security Questions, figure out a way to make the US a producing economy instead of a consumer/service economy (the collapse of the dollar should led to that, if America still has the skilled workers to command the return of manufacturing jobs) and, lastly, have the moral obligation and attitude to tackle the issues afflicting our planetary environments. Otherwise, we look to have a dismal future, where the American Dream becomes the American Nightmare as the Pax Americanaa is radically and violently eclipsed by the Pax Sino.

As Exxon Mobil gets out of the retail gas business as it's no longer profitable for a company that made $404 Billion in revenue (that's like how much money was spent on the Iraq War in the same time frame). What is really going on?

So now that the presidential primary is down to the final two men, we're entering the Thunderdome stage of Electoral Politics in the United States. One could hazard to guess that the predicted President -- Barak Obama -- goes after the oil companies ON THE RETAIL LEVEL ONLY. So that it looks like he's doing something to combat the never-lowering-again price of oil.

In the 2nd installment of the Max Mad series -- the Road Warrior to some, just Mad Max 2 to others -- gasoline is THE source of all power in a destroyed economically-obliterated new world, where man is still reliant on gas and the infernal internal combustion engine -- even though the ones who could radically alter what is used for transportation and power creation, don't seem to have a clue on how to fix the problem.

We might see a scenario like Mad Max in certain areas of this country, but not wide-spread panic and civilization metal down, because the interior of the country -- probably where you'd expect this to happen, actually supplies food for the not just the US, but the world.

It's the cities on the Eastern and Western seaboard that will become real-life inspirations of such classics of the post apocalyptic canon -- shit like Cyborg and Space Hunter or even Ice Pirates (which is another posting all by itself -- the search for fresh water, perhaps it needs to come from Mars, hence that's why we're there?).

Society is contracting now, and widespread death is going to happen, but covens and gangs and cabals are going to form in the urban areas...

The last of the SuperCarriers is going to be something like the last of Hummers... imagine in a new variant of Mad Max that the Hummer, or just the SUV in general is like some holy grail piece of transportation. It might become that, it just might.

But back to Barry and Johnny-Boy, the world wants Obama to be running the US, because he represents a new form of governing the Great Satan (as Khomeni dubbed us, but as as John Perkins of Confessions of an Economic Hitman confirmed) and enabling the country to gracefully deal with the economic consequences that will continue to wreak havoc with the world's economy.

Thee Club of Rome (that group that mets and decides X) published a polemic in the 1972 called THE LIMITS OF GROWTH, which predicted another 100 years of growth at the current rate, before radical shifts would inevitably take place. They updated the thesis statement in 1992 and again more recently, revising their estimates DOWNWARD. The rapid growth of the 3rd World wasn't accounted for and the estimates is that we're looking at 40 to 60 years of growth before we as a planet hit the wall -- and people have to start dying.

In a bizarre (but not really) case of life imitating art, R&B super-star singer R. Kelly was acquitted of all criminal counts of child porn… just Aaron McGruder predicted in his satire maybe about 3 years ago now. Hard to believe R. didn’t get convicted on at least one charge… but Dave Chappelle was mocking this piece of attempted justice on his brilliant social satire short-lived variety show. I find it hilarious the Kelly and the bitch he peed on both vigorous claimed that they weren’t the ones on that tape.

In other nigger-as-court-jester/entertainer news, apparently a group of investors is hoping to get Michael Jackson to appear in some Vegas shows… to raise money to combat his enormous debt load, and to rehabilitate the maligned and talent-forlorn once-dubbed King of Pop’s image. But why do that in the first place? That man-child has lost his luster almost ten years ago.

Oh yes, I forgot, America loves the comeback story almost as much as it loves the underdog story. And we love to see those who we built up (only to tear down) revive themselves in a way doesn’t convert them into complete jokes… although Jackson missed his chance to start the road to recovery by bowing of the 25th Anniversary of THRILLER performances at this year’s Grammy Awards. He could have just done a quick maybe 5 minute version of Billy Jean and then taken a helicopter and gone back to where ever he’s been hiding since the alleged child fucking acquittal (the man should never have gone to trial in the first place, but that’s another story).

It’s no longer shocking that these celebrities transgress society’s moral compass and then walk like the most innocent person possible; Average Joe gets gang-raped forever (or until he commits suicide) for a child molestation charge… because you usually go down for that, and that’s not a sign you want hung on you when you go to the state pen.

So I’m watching some old shows on the DVR last night, and I come across an ad from BMW… it’s of water (well, CG water) forming the outline for an unannounced hydrogen-powered 7 Series… and the tag line is some bullshit like, “when the world is ready, a BMW 7 Series is ready for the world.”

Now here’s the REALLY fucked-up thing about this ad, in particularly this car… back in 1988 when I was in high school, there was a blurb in BusinessWeek (I saved the article for years) in which BMW was doing track testing of a 7 Series that ran on hydrogen… twenty years ago! Fucking two generations and maybe 6 model updates… and we still haven’t seen this car get close to becoming a production car… they’ve obviously worked out the kinks to a hydrogen fueled car (with water as the “waste exhaust”) since then, and they’ve probably road-tested the hell out of this car.

It just tells you how much of a stranglehold the oil companies have on the automotive consumer market… and that GM and Ford probably can’t master the technology, so they can’t enter into collusion talks with ExxonMobil, ConnocoPhillips and the rest of the robber barons who have been making profits the likes the planet has never previously seen (perhaps even conceived).

Oil and its byproducts are one of the few products on the market that buck most economic laws of supply & demand…

But I think that BMW is a bunch of bitches, because they could be leading the way with this technology, they could be partnering with companies like Chevron (which claim to be an “energy” company) or Shell or even new Green companies in rolling out the infrastructure to support autos like this.

Although… who am I kidding thinking that corporations would do anything for the public good – that’s one of the reasons why there are corporations, so people can act like complete assholes in the name of money and decadence and not really be held accountable for such behavior.

I mean, when I was in junior high my history professor was telling the class how his brother worked on a research unit at one of the big three (at the time big four) auto makers and they created a carburetor component add-on that they junky late 70s to early 80s averaging 70 mpg. Once they presented the research study to the board, the researchers were given a pat on the back, asked to sign all sorts of non-disclosure documents (in lieu of HEFTY sums of money) and then lab work was stuffed in box – much like the Box in the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Even though I am a conspiracy theorist, because my teacher related this story on a tangent (and I’ve heard about all sorts of other tech breakthroughs that have been silenced and squelched throughout the decades) I’m most inclined to believe it and ever since then I’ve been waiting for Detroit to unveil this decades-old technology.

The Internal Combustion Engine ranks up there near the top as one of the most malignant engineering creations known to man. And the oil companies make a shitload of their profits from just refining oil into gasoline…

People in the country are loosing their ability to stay afloat financially by using credit cards to pay for shit like gas, gas in the cars!!! At like 14+% APR.

There’s a movie I’ve been catching pieces of on cable the last month called MAXED OUT… and it’s about the problems with Debt in America and the scurrilous tactics of the Credit Card Companies and the Banks that hand out subprime loans. It’s all a spiral that takes us all down the shitdrain…

Do Votes Count?

Well... only in the right circumstances, otherwise they're liable to get thrown out. As if it needs to be said again that Florida is having trouble getting properly represented in US Presidential politics. After yesterday's DNC Rules Committee ruling Florida and Michigan will receive half votes for their entire delegations to the Democratic National Party Convention in Denver in August (which is really right around the corner if you think about it).

After watching the HBO TV Movie "RECOUNT", I have to really wonder what goes in Florida? Why are the people who run the show on the ground, and in the official corridors of power, unable to get the democracy right? If what we saw, and is accurately documented, about how the actual people ignored the from the top rules on how to execute a recount -- if necessary -- goes a long way to show why the Florida Democrats fucked themselves by breaking the national rules as to when they were going to hold their primary this year... which resulted in the current debacle.

I don't think the Michigan and Florida delegation should be seated, or get their votes... what should have happened it a new primary should have been held. Yeah, that would have cost a lot of fucking money, but the candidates didn't get to canvas the area, roll out their get of the vote machinery and get a true accounting of what the people wanted.

Since that was never really on the table, providing a split of the delegates is perhaps not the best thing to do, but it certainly isn't the worst... at least for Barak Obama. Now for Hillary Clinton it's a kick in the buck-teeth. But what her supporters have failed to realize, especially the feminists, is that while it IS TIME for a viable woman presidential candidate, Bill's spouse with all the baggage of the final Clinton White House years, is DECIDEDLY NOT THAT CANDIDATE.

One could make the argument that the reason Dubya was elected was because the GOP did such a fantastic job at demonizing Clinton and his wife, that the desire to get ANYONE in the office who was the opposite of Clinton was necessary for the good of the country. Interestingly how the man that was installed has engendered the same kind of "get that son of a bitch out" hatred and vilification by the general public.

What's at stake now and what the Voting Block of 18 to 35 year olds need to consider is -- the time is NOW to make a change, not just in the politics of Washington, but a change in the direction that the country is heading down...

Dubya is the Nero of the Pax Americana; his fucking inability to govern, to manage his own affairs, to lead his underlings and to devise a clear vision for the country in the 21st Century has effective set fire to the country, its financial markets, its economy, its stature internationally, and its future.

He trade integrity for access (for his father's ilk), which is never a good bargain in life.

On the front page of Tuesday or Wednesday's Wall Street Journal was about Alan Greenspan and the besmirching of his reputation in the wake of the credit crisis that took roots during his sixteen year tenure as the most powerful banker on the planet.

I’m quite neutral on Alan (except I don’t think he should have orchestrated the bail-out of the Asian Contagion in 1997), but I don’t recall the overall (or even majority) Conventional Wisdom or Consensus being that Greenspan was butt-fucking the economy during the Clinton boom years or the years directly after 9/11 with lax controls financial institution controls and allowing damn near free money (for those with good credit). It seems to me, as it always seems in these situations, that the Wall Street Black Ops units and their Satan-spawned cousins in the mortgage banking industry concocted up some devilish ass shit to peddle to the consumers on Main Street (and in the rest of the world) – which as always made the rich more rich, and arranged for the future (i.e. now!) castration of the middle classes and the working poor; those who are fucking dirt poor probably don’t see much difference to what’s going – they’re used to the struggle, so…

I would say that the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Republican controlled Congress over the past sixteen years should be held responsible. Scapegoat those bitches, if you need to scapegoat somebody for fuck’s sake.

You honestly think mutahfuckas like Jack Ambramoff and others of his politically-bribing ilk didn’t make hella cash off of all the houses and condos that we sold to bitches wanting a piece of the AmeriKKKan dream? The Democratic nomination process is going to sour the general electorate on politics in general, but for Democrats specifically. Maureen Dowd of the NYTimes dropped this bomb on Hillary Clinton in her most recent column - Hillary is going for “the Tonya Harding option” — if she can’t get the gold, kneecap her rival. And even Clinton supporters know that Bill does not want to be replaced as the first "black" president, especially by a REAL black president with enough ju-ju to possibly eclipse him in the history books.

Mr. Obama said: “What I’m certain about is that people are disenchanted with a highly ideological GOP that believes tax cuts are the answer to every problem, and lack of regulation and oversight is always going to generate economic growth, and unilateral intervention around the world is the best approach to foreign policy. So there’s no doubt the pendulum is swinging.”

The policy debates between the two have been long exhausted, so the only way to get the public really engaged is by poking some raw national wound.

Ah… The 1980s… the Days of the Me Generation were in full swing and the Japanese with their super strong Yen were buying up so much property in the native Nippon (and therefore driving up prices) that they went on real estate buying sprees in the United States as well, snapping up such lauded properties as Rockerfeller Center! The Japanese speculators and the Average Akria drove up prices to record levels that are still shocking (in today’s dollars and yen), and real estate leveraged money reached out an bought up companies like Universal Studios and Columbia/Tri-Star and out of real estate . Go-Go Days like that don’t last very long,After the 1987 Stock Market Crash the Japanese Housing bubble took a pinprick that popped the bubble in record time… and when it collapsed the crash was back-breaking to not only an entire generation, but to the proletariat culture of Japan!

Many of us don’t recall or care to recall what happened in Japan throughout the 90s, as we were living high on the hog during the BILL Clinton years and during the makings of the first internet bubble (yes, there will be a second one… don’t you worry). But Japan, after being viewed as the country (and therefore culture) that was going to own the world – what they couldn’t do by military force in the 1930s they were doing by economic force in the 1980s – and this vaunted economic success had a lot of people learning Japanese and studying Japanese management techniques. However, Japan waded through at least 6 to 8 years of recessions, where they would have 3 down quarters to 1 up quarter or other anemic combinations of sputtering economic growth… there was even stagflation and then there was even a deflationary period (where consumers where afraid to spend, because they knew prices would be cheaper the following month). One truly remarkable aspect of the Japanese economic seesaw was that at certain points the Bank of Japan established negative interest rates… yeah, you pay the bank back less than what you borrow!

It was a decidedly difficult time, that was only exacerbated by Alan Greenspan saving the Asian Tigers from collapse in the late 90s (remember that?) and while Japan has emerged from the storm, it’s place in the Global Economy was demoted. Sure they’re still a powerhouse (by sheer numbers), but we don’t look to them as a challenge any more – they’ve been replaced by China and India.

Why talk about Japan? Well, the housing bubble that burst in Japan could be analogous to the future of the housing marketing in the United States; only it might be more dire, as far too many people took out HELOC and used the money to extend their lifestyle (cheaper money than using a credit card) or bought up too much house than they could afford or never should have been in the market for a home in the first place (able to make the mortgage payments, but not the insurance and property taxes).

Are we poised to deal with a housing market, i.e. general economy that oscillates up two quarters, down the next three? What happens when the Baby Boomers retire and dump all their investments? The stock market, at least in the US, is poised for a perpetual zigzagging for the next 5 to 15 years. Sure it’ll go up, but the economy is going to have difficult time sustaining overall growth, except for maybe in the medical sector.

Although optimists will say our economy can withstand just about anything… I wonder if Nero’s advisers thought the same thing, before he torched the place.

Three Cheers for the War that Ends the Country

It's either today or this is the five year anniversary of the War in Iraq -- thus surpassing World War Two, and bringing us to a Vietnam War timeframe.

And, as always, there is no end in sight. Why?

Because Donald Rumsfeld and the rest of the Pentagon brass that was ineptly running shit when the war started really had no plan other than to take out Saddam Hussein. Think about it, nothing else but do that and it's costing half a trillion dollars at this point, if not more.

One of the biggest goddamn mistakes was dismantling the Iraqi army -- with its 350,000 troop strength -- and not replacing that figure with American and other "Coalition of the Willing" soldiers. It is expected as invaders -- throughout the history of civilization -- that the purpose of the state, the reason why bands of people form larger groups that then turn into nations and the prime directive of the state is to protect its citizens... with an army. So when W, Shrub and Tricky Dick Cheney approved the policy of dismantling the Iraqi army they obviously inadvertently pushed the country into a style of chaos perhaps unprecedented.

Armies keep the public in check, hence the advent of martial law. When shit gets bad, the army goes in to quell the public outcry. It happened in the US during the 60s Civil Rights combustions, it happened in the aftermath of Katrina, because civilization broke down and the duty of the State is to maintain order. And if you think about, the people don't cry foul when the army comes in WHEN CHAOS RULES THE DAY. Now, how long has Chaos Ruled The Day in Iraq?

Also, when Prescott's Grandson put 350,000 men out of work, those people immediately became enemies of the state, because the US became the de facto state -- even though that kind of Nation Building was objected to by Shrub and his ilk. Uh... you dump a country's army with your army it is now your responsibility to be the new army or raise a new one. And the US did neither, hence the sad sad sad state of affairs in Iraq.

Of course Shrub and his duplicitous so-called managers weren't thinking about the history of geopolitics when they said, "let's go get this sucker. He tried to kill my Dad, so he's gotta pay!"

So raise your glasses to the War, because it'll continue well into the next president's second term. Get used to the fact that money that could be used to fix almost any social ailment that you can think of is being spent refusing to acknowledge that G.I. Joe and crew are the new Iraqi army, yet behaving as if that's the fact with a supremely undermanned force.

Don't think the 350K uneumployed disgruntled sand niggers are responsible for more than 2/3 of all the deaths in Iraq. Of course there's no way to verify this fact, and the Pentagon would deny it anyway.

Oil Barons Rape Us... and we like It!!

So Oil has breached $110 a muthafuckin’ barrel!!! God damn! And to think, I was tripping out when it was inching near $80… in SoCal that means over $4/gal EASILY come April 15th. Especially if you happen to be on the Westside of Los Angeles, where they rape you even more… part of the price of living in the so-called “nice part of town.”

On LA’s premiere radio station KCRW they run these ads for something called Flex Your Power, which is basically a website listing ways and means to cut your overall energy consumption, stuff like getting motion sensors on your lights and using CF light bulbs, because lighting is about 25% of your monthly bill, and you can cut it by 50% by using this little tips. There are video ads on the site as well about what’s up with our kids and their future; it’s interesting.

I see know reason why all this power stuff is intriguing because we have to do something about getting away from oil as our primary means of powering our go-go economies. Business will solve the problems of transpo and power with different technology, business has to because the potential money to be made is outrageous – the power boom will be like the early 80s tech boom, in terms of creating lots and lots of wealth, and even creating manufacturing jobs here in the US.

However, it doesn’t solve the issue that we use fossil fuel, i.e. petroleum/black gold, in manufacturing of all sorts of shit in the global economy. The true scientific technological break-thru will be on how to reclaim and cycle plastics, Styrofoam and other chemical products that once junked have a half-life of like a few hundred thousand years. Imagine a company with the ability to reclaim and recycle expending plastics? Said company can roll up to any landfill on the planet (and there are too fucking many, so that’s a big market) and start unearthing and sifting around to reclaim the junked plastic for future use.

Of course no one really knows what kind of toxic soup is in a landfill and even the most impregnable hazardous materials suits might not be able to protect these new workers from culling what they need from those zones.

Will companies like Applied Materials, BP and Shell (with their GTL technology, see the film on their website shell.com) be able to create the kinds of technology necessary to get us away for oil for energy needs? All the big ass muthafuckin’ bank that these companies have been making since the War in Iraq started, and they aren’t dumping huge swaths in the R&D for alternative fuels and green technology? Sure, they’re being asked to fuel the potential competition, but… BUT what’s the alternative? Don’t think oil can’t reach $150/barrel this year (as some have predicted). ‘cause it will by the time the election rolls around – and Barak, Hillary and Johnny POW won’t be able to do shit about it.

NASA and the Military have been fucking up by not doing the hard science research required to lick this problem (that’s a W-ism, BTW).

So the Fed offers up to Wall Street US Treasuries to open up the credit markets? Is Bernanke insane? How can he and the rest of the Fed Governors even entertain that the Big Banks can use their troubled mortgage-backed securities as collateral? How does this make sense? When:

a) the whole mess with the credit markets is rooted in the mortgage-backed securities market?

b) no one YET knows how to value the mortgage-backed securities, and since the default rate is climbing by the hour, there’s no way to measure the risk of these investments?

c) you know damn well that they are going to use their most difficult, sub-prime securities as collateral, so effectively this is a bail out at the general welfare of the country’s expense;

d) this type of extreme horsetrading the reason why the credit markets are in freefall in the first place.

e) the Fed traditionally refused to accept private label securities for collateral – and with good reason, if the Wall Street Warriors can trick even their shrewdest competitors be sure they can trick the Fed and the SEC long enough for their to be cataclysmic damage committed.

Look at the Credit Derivatives market, it’s predicting that Citibank has a 17% of defaulting on its obligations in the next 5 years!!! That’s a whopping, if not astronomical number. And since no Sovereign Wealth Fund has bought into Citi (and I suspect none will), they might be in some trouble. So that 17% might not be as outrageous as it seems…

And what’s up with Carlyle Group? They’re just about to go under and smash the industry again. They’re about to lose their Triple A-rated mortgage-backed securities to cover their massive debt; this will no doubt flood the market with AAA securities, therefore driving the price down on this top grade shit and just think what it’s going to do to the value of the bottom-of-the-barrel crapola that’s the root cause of the market meltdown?

Treasury Secretary Paulson was issuing edicts to have more supervision and greater controls so this type of bursting of the bubble doesn’t happen again… well at least anytime soon, because those sons of bitches on Wall Street make the big bucks because they figure out ways to jook the system, and they sidestep any kind of serious fallout – no one goes to jail or is seriously fined. Secretary Paulson’s biggest hurdle is going to be getting the Ratings Companies (i.e. Moody’s and Standard & Poor) to act in the best interest of shareholders and the general market – not the investment banks who had the game rigged, whereby they would demand a rating from say Moody’s (usually a high one) and pay for their rating of an investment issue AFTER that’s right I said, after the investment bank sold the security to bamboozled investors!

The thing is no matter what Bernanke or Paulson do, there is no Silver Bullet for the killing the GREED PRINCIPLE, which fuels all the excesses in capital markets that we’ve seen since the 1987 Crash – and their have been a few: internet, real estate, financials, commodities (oh wait that crash hasn’t happened again yet), Asian Tigers, etc from recurring – again and again and again. All those Wall Street and Fed Economic Gurus never foresee the raping of the system until the System has been ransacked much like Rome when the Germanic Barbarians where invading, and it’s too late to save it as the Centurions scratch their heads wondering why didn’t we stop this when we saw it coming?

The one moment in Dubya’s time in office that is a precursor to what’s really happening in our future as country is the devastating natural disaster known as Hurricane Katrina, and how the US government dealt with it or rather failed to. New Orleans’ African-Americans were stand-ins for the world’s billions of people of color living hand-to-mouth, while the top 1% owns 50% of all the world’s wealth. The pitiful response of the government controlled by a GOP administration – i.e. one run by corporate lobbyist, er friendly fascists, -- so caught up in its phony way in Iraq that it could not handle the war-like devastation in New Orleans.

The belief that additional national GOP leadership is the answer to renewed stewardship of the country and the country’s image and influence around the globe is absolute nonsense, if not utterly ridiculous.

John McCain is a good man, a good Senator, in fact one of the better Senators we’ve had in recent memory, but he’ll be beholden the greed mongering cutthroat bandits that –- in the end -- run his party. Not to mention that he’d fill the corridors of power with more of the odious political cronies, who have a great affinity to the same old Fuck Shit that Dubya Bush has been force-feeding us than a Democratic Commander-in-Chief would.

I just finished reading Leon Wynter's fascinating book, AMERICAN SKIN, and he made a curiously interesting observation -- that white men are the very template for the Borg of Star Trek: Next Generation fame; they will adapt to what they cannot assimilate by force. As whiteness continues to lose its overall premium in commercial culture, more and more whites are forced to take stock of their investment in whiteness.

He ponders if whether whiteness will eventually redefine itself out of existence in America, taking blackness along with it. Logically it could happen when social and economic whiteness has entirely outlived its usefulness. Never forget: the underlying motivation for the institution of political whiteness has always been economic first and social second. Hence no economic return, no more whiteness.

Fidel Steps Down

So the big news in geopolitics this week is the Fidel Castro - the penultimate revolutionary -- has relinquished power in Havana. After nearly 50 years of rule, perhaps the longest run of any ruler in history (I don't have all the numbers, but it's pretty long time), Castro has to release his grip on power, and he did it on his own terms without "losing the revolution." Typically, we'd see some rioting in the streets or the opposition party was geared up for the transition and they seize power, but that's not the case here.

I'm curious to see if Barak Obama meets with Raul Castro -- without pre-conditions -- about normalizing relations.

Apparently, the last true efforts to normalize relations occurred during the Carter Administration, but Fidel's support of revolutionary causes in Angola and Ethiopia scuttled the attempts.

The biggest black eye during the Cold War for the US has a chance to heal, before a revolution takes place. Obviously, Cuba could go the way of China and still be a Communist country, but fully embrace capitalist ideas and increase its economy. As the largest island in the Caribbean and natural trading partner/vacation spot for the US, it's been a pissed awsay half-century for both countries.

A popular video on YouTube shows Kellie Pickler, the adorable that’s a questionable adjective, to say the least platinum blonde from “American Idol,” appearing on the Fox game show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” during celebrity week. Selected from a third-grade geography curriculum, the $25,000 question asked: “Budapest is the capital of what European country?”

Ms. Pickler threw up both hands and looked at the large blackboard perplexed. “I thought Europe was a country,” she said. Playing it safe, she chose to copy the answer offered by one of the genuine fifth graders: Hungary. “Hungry?” she said, eyes widening in disbelief. “That’s a country? I’ve heard of Turkey. But Hungry? I’ve never heard of it.” Why would you make this statement? It just compounds how fucking ignorant this no talent bitch is? Say something like, “I guess I forgot… world history class was ten years ago.” Don’t drop a bomb that exacerbates your own personal stupidity, please!

Such, uh, lack of global awareness is the kind of thing that drives Susan Jacoby, author of “The Age of American Unreason,” up a wall. Ms. Jacoby is one of a number of writers with new books that bemoan the state of American culture.

Joining the circle of curmudgeons this season is Eric G. Wilson, whose “Against Happiness” warns that the “American obsession with happiness” could “well lead to a sudden extinction of the creative impulse, that could result in an extermination as horrible as those foreshadowed by global warming and environmental crisis and nuclear proliferation.”This statement is a bit extreme, but it is extremes that the truth is really laid bare.

Then there is Lee Siegel’s “Against the Machine: Being Human in the Age of the Electronic Mob,” which inveighs against the Internet for encouraging solipsism, debased discourse and arrant commercialization.This is ALL true; I’ll be pick up this book and reading it on my next trip to the library. Mr. Siegel, one might remember, was suspended by The New Republic for using a fake online persona in order to trash critics of his blog (“you couldn’t tie Siegel’s shoelaces”) and to praise himself (“brave, brilliant”).And here’s the rub, the whole purpose of the internet is to rant anonymously… of course, you can’t stay in the shadows for too long. People WILL make it their mission to find out who wrote what on the internet.

Ms. Jacoby, whose book came out on Tuesday, doesn’t zero in on a particular technology or emotion, but rather on what she feels is a generalized hostility to knowledge. She is well aware that some may tag her a crank. “I expect to get bashed,” said Ms. Jacoby, 62, either as an older person who upbraids the young for plummeting standards and values, or as a secularist whose defense of scientific rationalism is a way to disparage religion.She’s going to get bashed by the people who’s best interest lies in keeping the large majority of the public woefully ignorant on a whole host of topics, fields and subject matter.

Ms. Jacoby, however, is quick to point out that her indictment is not limited by age or ideology. Yes, she knows that eggheads, nerds, bookworms, longhairs, pointy heads, highbrows and know-it-alls have been mocked and dismissed throughout American history.yes, this true with our country, because the country rube is bequeathed a level of power, because the Founding Fathers wanted to let the masses believe they have a lot of say over the direction that this country is headed, but in actuality that’s the biggest piece of chicanery (i.e. pulling the wool over someone’s eyes, if you have a bad vocabulary) that also happens to be the cornerstone of the true nature of this country. And liberal and conservative writers, from Richard Hofstadter to Allan Bloom, have regularly analyzed the phenomenon and offered advice.

T. J. Jackson Lears, a cultural historian who edits the quarterly review Raritan, said, “The tendency to this sort of lamentation is perennial in American history,” adding that in periods “when political problems seem intractable or somehow frozen, there is a turn toward cultural issues.”

But now, Ms. Jacoby said, something different is happening: anti-intellectualism (the attitude that “too much learning can be a dangerous thing”) and anti-rationalism (“the idea that there is no such things as evidence or fact, just opinion”) have fused in a particularly insidious way.

Not only are citizens ignorant about essential scientific, civic and cultural knowledge, she said, but they also don’t think it matters.

She pointed to a 2006 National Geographic poll that found nearly half of 18- to 24-year-olds don’t think it is necessary or important to know where countries in the news are located. So more than three years into the Iraq war, only 23 percent of those with some college could locate Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Israel on a map. Geo-politics is THE key notion facing the United States as the 21st century progresses, to fail to understand, let alone the desire to understand how the countries of the 2nd World of their geography effects one’s wallet in Green Bay or Kansas City. To bash that knowledge begs that Malcolm X quote, “the chickens have come home to roost.

Ms. Jacoby, dressed in a bright red turtleneck with lipstick to match, was sitting, appropriately, in that temple of knowledge, the New York Public Library’s majestic Beaux Arts building on Fifth Avenue. The author of seven other books, she was a fellow at the library when she first got the idea for this book back in 2001, on 9/11.

Walking home to her Upper East Side apartment, she said, overwhelmed and confused, she stopped at a bar. As she sipped her bloody mary, she quietly listened to two men, neatly dressed in suits. For a second she thought they were going to compare that day’s horrifying attack to the Japanese bombing in 1941 that blew America into World War II:

“This is just like Pearl Harbor,” one of the men said.

The other asked, “What is Pearl Harbor?”

“That was when the Vietnamese dropped bombs in a harbor, and it started the Vietnam War,” the first man replied.

At that moment, Ms. Jacoby said, “I decided to write this book.”

Ms. Jacoby doesn’t expect to revolutionize the nation’s educational system or cause millions of Americans to switch off “American Idol” and pick up Schopenhauer. But she would like to start a conversation about why the United States seems particularly vulnerable to such a virulent strain of anti-intellectualism. After all, “the empire of infotainment doesn’t stop at the American border,” she said, yet students in many other countries consistently outperform American students in science, math and reading on comparative tests.

In part, she lays the blame on a failing educational system. “Although people are going to school more and more years, there’s no evidence that they know more,” she said. Schooling is perhaps the biggest monetary fraud that I can think of… unless you’re planning on working on Wall Street or being a doctor of some sort, then schooling is a trick, a weeding out process more than anything.

Ms. Jacoby also blames religious fundamentalism’s antipathy toward science, as she grieves over surveys that show that nearly two-thirds of Americans want creationism to be taught along with evolution. Creationism IS NOT something to be believed or taught in schools -- it's a waste of resources and time. If you believe in modern science and medicine, then you can't be down with Creationism -- so stop taking your prescription drugs or OTC meds if you really want Creationism to be taught and believed.

Ms. Jacoby doesn’t leave liberals out of her analysis, mentioning the New Left’s attacks on universities in the 1960s, the decision to consign African-American and women’s studies to an “academic ghetto” instead of integrating them into the core curriculum, ponderous musings on rock music and pop culture courses on everything from sitcoms to fat that trivialize college-level learning.

Avoiding the liberal or conservative label in this particular argument, she prefers to call herself a “cultural conservationist.”

For all her scholarly interests, though, Ms. Jacoby said she recognized just how hard it is to tune out the 24/7 entertainment culture. A few years ago she participated in the annual campaign to turn off the television for a week. “I was stunned at how difficult it was for me,” she said.

The surprise at her own dependency on electronic and visual media made her realize just how pervasive the culture of distraction is and how susceptible everyone is — even curmudgeons.

100 YEARS OR MORE?!?!

The other n night on CNN’s LARRY KING LIVE, Senator John McCain (R-Arizona) was the guest and he espousing the underpinnings of “The Straight Talk Express” – first off I don’t know why a Dolly Parton Song is being used as part of his campaign slogan-age, but to each his own; the meat of the interview, in my mind, was McCain trying to defend his statement about keeping troops in Iraq for 100 years. Certainly, he didn’t mean it – although we have had troops in Germany and Japan for well over 50 years (but in peacetime, not in the middle of an insurgency that’s lasted longer World War 2, and cost even more – yet has generated less in terms of world changing technology).

What McCain’s biggest problem is when it comes to the illegitimate War in Iraq is that he can’t live down the supposed shame of the VietNam War – especially because he’s tortured and decorated vet of that misbegotten conflict. I’m taking anything whatsoever away from McCain, his struggle, his POW days, his war record – but that armed conflict left a black eye on American foreign policy and military for close to two decades (rehashed by shit like FIRST BLOOD). The US didn’t exactly recover from that, and at the end of the day we’re now good trading partners with VietNam; with normalized diplomatic relations. But the might of the vaunted US armed forces was called into question (however, effectively propagandizes as unstoppable by Hollywood throughout the 80s and 90s).

The current pre-occupation with the Middle East has not only blinded America from its true and present interests across the globe, but the crux of the problem could have been dealt with effectively if a “fuck all y’all” foreign policy wasn’t in effect during the Reagan and Bush years (sure, we’ve been dicking the Middle East since the end of WW2, but it took a new level after Reagan came into office).

So for McCain to claim that we can’t leave without victory (and that MEANS what?) is just ridick!!! No one has even defined what “victory in the Iraq” is supposed to look like. Arabs aren’t cut-out for democracy… I can’t call it when it comes to any place in the whole region is operating under a democracy as entertained by the Greeks. There might be “elections”, but they’re reasonably phony.

And the spiraling costs of the war – in hard dollars, in human lives, in wasted war material, the psychic cost to the nation – doesn’t seem to be factored into McCain’s equation.

Should Barak and Hillary have hard exit strategies? Yeah, but the operative word is strategy – which is something that is usually considered flexible and is oft-revised. No one wants to have the US Military show the pink of its ass, but there’s no problem in turning tail and running – because we’ve done in numerous times before… can anyone same Beirut 1985?

LIVING COLOR SAID IT BEST – “I’m The Cult of Personality”

That hard rock anthem from 1989 from the first legitimate Black rock band in say 25 years is know being used as a invective remark aimed at Senator Barak Obama’s Democratic nomination campaign; which accusations of having a self-referential campaign message, one has to wonder what exactly does it mean to be President. Bill Clinton and Ronald Reagan were charismatic leaders that could have worn the same goathorns, and even Dubya has his own cult of personality – people just wanted to believe that Compassionate Conservative BOOLSHIT – and old boy got elected, and fucked the country with a sharp spike up it’s tight ass.

Sure the Obama camp and its supporters are rabid fans of the man, but they see a man who can articulate a message. People attack his policies or more to the point that his policies are hazy, but if you really think about what Presidential Contender actually made a lot of his election platform come to pass? When you get down to it, national policy isn’t controlled by the President.

Representative Chet Edwards (D-Texas), perhaps has summed up Obama’s candidacy the best, “It's not Senator Clinton's fault, but the baggage she carries is the divisiveness of the 1990s. People are wanting to turn the chapter to the future rather than going back to the last chapter. It's not fair but that is the reality."

Let's Be Real Now

The one thing I really enjoy about Barak Obama’s speaking is that he doesn’t sound like a character on THE BOONDOCKS - not a straight-up coon like Uncle Ruckus, a white-washed chump like Tom DuBois, a foolish old negro like Robert "Grandad" Freeman, a clown hip-hop nigga like Riley or "down for the cause" kid like Huey. All stereotypical examples of how niggas talk, but Barak evades that -- which makes him acceptable to all non-African Americans, whether they get down with his politics or his meesage is another story.

Don’t get me wrong, I love that show, but far too many African-Americans SOUND like African-Americans when you throw a mic in their face; more aptly, they sound like niggaz.

Senator Barak Obama delivered a Victory Speech in Wisconsin the other night, a speech with the grace and power of man who knows how to wield power and influence for the greater good (whether that’s true is anyone’s guess, but I have to hope so…) and it just really began to usher in a new era in America’s socio-cultural landscape.

Obama’s popularity among white women is the most contested constituency in the entire race (one that Hillary Clinton has been winning hand-over-fist in the early voting), and it has been the deciding factor in the big prize contests, but that seems to be eroding as witnessed in the Potomac Primaries just yesterday. In addition, Obama pulled something like 56% of white male voters… something that Clinton has, is and will struggle with.

What does this say about the transracial nature of America? That the one country founded on the hatred of another racial/ethnic group is now finally able to set aside that element of “otherness” – or at least publicly – an embrace a Man who stands for change and camaraderie across traditional dividing lines? Surely since the complete acceptance of Michael Jordan and Bo Jackson as the appeal-to-all Pitchmen, the understanding that their could be an African-American president was tickling some peoples minds… enough so for the people behind Fox’s 24 put a Black man in the White House for multiple seasons dealing with crisis after crisis, and he never failed from the foibles that many would unjustly hang on a Black man’s ability to lead and to make cognitively

The odd thing about Obama is that he’s not a born-n-bread American nigga… because there is a TREMENDOUS amount of baggage the goes with that. Of being part of the constituency that is ever the socio-economic underdog. The burdens attributed to American Blacks are like Atlas’s impossible burden – difficult to shake off because they define that person. To be in the “struggle” typifies what it means to be Black, but it’s not a mutually exclusive moniker.

To look at it from another angle, the new majority of so-called Minorities (the people of color who are non-African American) ascribe to and aspire to be what was dubbed “white” for 88% of the last 100 years – a whiteness that rings of truth and realism in terms of what it means to be societal and financially successful. Yet that same group of People of Color looks to stand on the shoulders of what American Blacks created culturally and side-step any and all malapropism that go hand in hand with being “urban.” It’s a known fact that 50% of all Hispanics consider themselves “white” when walking the streets of America.

Racism, misogyny and character assassination are all ways of distracting voters from the issues, and people who care about the issues have a shared interest in making the politics of hatred unacceptable.

There's lots of talk now that Senator Barak Obama's presidential nomination campaign has become a Cult of Personality. As much as I love that song from the late 80s Black hard rock band, I find it slanderous to claim that Obama's campaign is a cult with no relevancy behind it.

Sure, the backers and supporters of the campaign are rabid fans, but that's because the public at large REALLY has enough of the boolshit that's happened under Dubya's reign.

Ranging from all the conspiracy theories about what really happened on 9/11 to the true nature of the Bush families relationship with the Saudi royal family and the bin Ladens. And everyone is sick of hearing about the war in Iraq; even if you're an idiot and thinks the war was the right thing, you're probably sick of hearing about it and all the lies and deceit that led up to the shameless event.

What is quite possible about the Obama's campaign is that Obama isn't providing enough substantive policy and election platform, because he's shaping his policy and saving the release of the nuts-n-bolts of it all until he's facing John McCain... not much reason or rationale to drop elements that the GOP can get a jump start on fucking up the Democratic contender's election campaign.

However, a President doesn't need to have it all worked about during the campaign, because all policy concepts need to be flexible once one is occupying the Oval Office. In reality, the President can't ramrod policy down the the throat of the American public -- they have to go through the Congress, and people see to forget that. If the Congress is about putting up road blocks for the President, he or she ain't gettin' shit done.

The President does need to be charismatic or at least have some sort of the media impact -- Reagan, Billy Clinton, and Dubya all have a strong media impact quality; Reagan and Clinton hold people in their sway because they speak with such direct fluidity toward the audience; Dubya's complete display of ignorance and inarticulateness is so shocking that it's captivating for the sheer joke of it all.

Senator Obama's voice is gripping like a Tony Robbins character, but that doesn't make him a demagogue.

Hillary Clinton - much like Al Gore during his presidential run -- is too packaged, too staid to be captivating, and yes, sadly, because she's an older woman the key components of her charisma have aged away or would be highly inappropriate for her to use to aide her media image -- even if she was doing squats and lunges for the past 16 years and had a tight asss and lithe legs, she'd be taken to task and laughed at if she wore any kind of clothing that accentuated her female sexuality.

So it goes to reason that Hillary's campaign and those who are supposed to be impartial in their reporting on the campaign are going to find whatever they can to perform character assassination on Obama. This is a smart thing, because ultimately the likability of a candidate has an overwhelming amount of ethereal evidence as to why a voter chooses a candidate.

Mark my words, lots of people didn't like Walter Mondale, didn't like Michale Dukakis, didn't like Bob Dole, didn't lilke John Kerry as people, as someone who they are supposed to respect as the "face" of the nation -- and that's why their opponents beat them in the election.

America The Brave? How About America The Weak!?!

There's a lot of talk that Barak Obama is a weak candidate because he has openly talked about sitting down with America's various nemesis nations around the globe and starting a dialogue with NO PRECONDITIONS! This is includes Cuba, Iran and Venezuela.

If you think about why Hillary and all the GOP candidates don't go for this -- it has to do with the American Psyche. Americans believe basically that it's us versus the world because everyone in the World wants the one thing that we offer -- a chance to be an American citizen.

The thing about why the U.S. Government is only willing to negotiate with Iran on the point of nuclear arms, before even considering discussing anything else stems from the the 1979 Hostage crisis. The Iranian Revolution beat America's ass for the whole world to see, and we basically didn't do anything about it -- which softened up the Democrats for the next 4 presidential elections. The US now just can't get over what happened almost 30 years ago.

And that's also why the U.S. Government refuse to even recognize Fidel Castro and Cuba, because he turned his back on America and seized up all the American business assets that were based and nationalized them.

We all know that Dubya rolled up into Iraq and orchestrated Saddam Hussein's execution because Hussein attempted to assassinated Dubya's father after he left the Oval Office.

America is one of the most nationalistic/jingoistic countries the planet has ever seen -- it leads to us being basically an ideologically isolated nation, and the US's mindstate is that of The Zero Sum Game, but it's not the case. Many times when the U.S. does "bad" to other countries its believing that those antagonistic actions must to some "good" for the USA. But that's not all the case, in fact it's ultimately rarely the case.

The US Government has been so preoccupied with the Middle East since the 2nd Intifadah erupted in the fall of 2000, that its basically lost its ability to influence other places on the globe -- like Latin and South America. Do you honestly think that if GI Joes weren't getting their asses handed to them in Fallujah, that Dubya and Rummy wouldn't have thought twice about sending in troops to displace Hugo Chavez?

This is late but...

Over the weekend Barak Obama stormed through South Carolina and took the state, and with something like 25% white votes (up from 10% only a few weeks before)… which is huge.

But what’s really huge is Carolyn and Ted Kennedy

Carolyn Kennedy, the last of those connected with JKF said in the NYTimes Op-Ed the other day“we need to put aside our plans and reach for what we know is possible.” in regards to supporting Barak Obama.

Now I have to say that the forced parallels between Obama and JFK are interesting, yet scary at the same time. When JFK was running for office, Dwight Eisenhower was gearing up to warn the country about the frightening rising power of the military industrial complex. When Obama is running for office, Prescott’s grandson has been exerting that self-same military industrial complex at the expense of the United State’s economy and its geopolitical power/diplomatic reputation THROUGHOUT THE GLOBE.

JFK came from a rich family with money and political ties that pre-dated Prohibition – Obama’s pop comes from East Africa!

Carolyn Kennedy ended her op-ed piece with this, “I want a president who understands that his responsibility is to articulate a vision and encourage others to achieve it; who holds himself, and those around him, to the highest ethical standards; who appeals to the hopes of those who still believe in the American Dream, and those around the world who still believe in the American ideal; and who can lift our spirits, and make us believe again that our country needs every one of us to get involved.” Again the parallels with her Pops are endless, but most importantly

Lastly, will the most dubious parallel hang around Obama’s neck the way it hangs around JFK’s? And I don’t mean dicking down a famous movie star! (and truth be told, there ain’t no young star who’d be worth it – sure someone like Jessica Alba or Emily Blunt – don’t slip on this white girl’s booty!, but aside from that…)

Here’s the thing about Obama – he is getting the youthful cynics who have cringed at politics since they were kids during the Reagan era to become part of the process. Even if American national politics is the most rigged political theater this side of an African dictator claiming he wants democratic reforms, to have people actual giving a flying fuck about their future and their children’s future is what makes Obama a contender. Now, will a huge majority of white folks pull the lever in the voting booth when they reach the “nigger candidate” is the huge question… they did so in Iowa to a winning result, and they obviously did so in the Nevada and New Hampshire (but in large enough numbers).

On a side note, you know what is interesting? Why is it that when people talk about the lower classes in America, its referred to as “the working class”? When we all goddamn well know that what is meant is those who really slave for their minimum wages and getting pegging by that Dominatrix with heavy duty strapon going by the sobriquet of Big Business/Corporate America?
