Have you been following the wildly out of control drug violence that's exploding from the Mexican Drug cartels? Take a good look at how they handle their opposition?!?!
I don't see why the DEA doesn't claim that this is a national security issue and have the Pentagon send in at least ten Delta Force Units to beat some ass or, or send in some CIA black ops with the laser targeting devices to drop some smart bombs throughout Juarez, Tijuana and the other drug strong holds. Surely, the Intel can pinpoint the strongholds so the USAF can drop some daisy-chain bombs up side the head of these crazy people.
Oh, but wait! We haven't been able to find bin Laden in the last 8 years, so we can't count out any actionable intel!
Now what's crazy is that these Mexican Naro-mafias use AMERICAN MADE weapon systems! Talk about your export dollars! Seriously though, the weapons manufactures (no need to name names as we all know who those people are) should be able to track the sale of CRATES of their munitions! I mean, fuck a duck!
The battles are access to smuggling routes into the US of A! Is our thirst for weed and coke so damn high that people actually have to get slaughtered to see who can sneak the shit in? I guess it makes perfect sense though, distribution rights means controlling the cash outlays from the 12 to 44 years -- the bulk of the drug users. Kinda makes you wonder why weed hasn't been legalized AND TAXED by the Feds, so they can control the sell of the shit. Make it like beer, you need a license and if you're caught selling without a license you and your family get jail time? Well, not your family, but the level of illegal activity would be drastically reduced, because if government head shops were selling Grade-A Ganja then the need for street dealers who are always trying to gyp you would disappear! Imagine if Rite Aid, CVS and Walgreen's sold weed? No more going to stoner's grimy crib to get your hook up... And lets' not talk about the tax dollars that could be made! Are you listening Governor Schwartzeneggar?
Ever noticed how the police force in most countries always seems woefully outmatched by the drug gangs? Even in the US that's the case, but our military is luckily (hopefully) uncorrupted at the local level. The Latin American military complex - whether that's the military or the local police, just don't seem to have the . I wonder if joining the military in those countries creates the same sense of patriotism? Sure, Gi Joe's get disillusioned, but how many of the average grunts take payouts and turn a blind eye as they let criminals stomp on the American Flag. I think American Soldiers have a sense of jingoistic patriotism regarding the American flag and what it stands for, which perhaps gives us an edge in combat situations. I don't know any other country whose troops would stand for being in a state of war for six plus years and still be effective... maybe the old Soviet Union, but that's high suspect. And the new Russians actually like going to war, because it gives them an opportunity to pillage (ask the Georgian victims from last summers invasion).
Food for thought as to why drug gangs can operate with such impunity...
