Lie Down WIth PIgs and Get The Swine Flu

Noted author, scholar and anthropologist Jared Diamond wrote in his book GUNS, GERMS AND STEEL that humans are susceptible to getting viruses and other diseases from animals by living in close proximity to them for too damn long.

Well, that seems to be the case. Apparently, the Bird Flu hit up these pigs in Mexico, and then SOMEHOW the Pig Farmers in MEXICO got the bug and have been transmitting it to fellow humans.

What's really frightening is how fast and how far this flu viruses (SARS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu) travel ACROSS THE GLOBE! One day it's confined to Mexico and SW US of A, next day it's in Scotland, Canada, Japan (where they're using heat monitors to see if you're breaking a fever... "you're too hot, sir, get the fuck out of line and step into quarantine, please...") and Sri Lanka...

I wonder how the Pork Industry is going to spin this? Those "The Other White Meat" ads haven't been seen on TV in a while, and I'm sure that American Muslims, under the yoke of Louis Farrakhan, are going to be rallying behind this news, too, stating (to some effect) that the Pig, the Swine, is so damn unclean, unhealthy, that it's threatening our very lives!!! (applause, applause).

You know the deal with these type of health epidemics... fringe religious groups find a way to capitalize and fan the flames of fear.

I wonder what the damn Evangelicals are saying?

And why wasn't Dr. Gupta from CNN nominated (and then confirmed ) to be Surgeon General? Is he a bad choice? Or does he not want to go under the scrutiny? I figure now that the GOP/Confederate party Fucks are pissed off by the Budget and Financial Stimulus packages that Obama rammed down their throats, they're going to really rip the dicks off of the rest of Obama's Cabinet Nominees. Mark my words... 100 Days in and no Surgeon General or other top officials at Treasury? That's some shit, shame on the GOP/Confederates!!
